Many cases have been confirmed by area hospitals in recent weeks, with several young adults requiring stays in intensive care, which they received at Saint Ruth's Hospital, just north of downtown. The source interviewed, a Doctor Anteese, expressed hope regarding their prognosis. The media advises parents to keep their teens from kissing and contracting the deadly disease with a restraining mask that bares several similarities to that made famous in Silence of the Lambs.

UPDATE: Several patients that were originally being treated for mononucleosis have died. Saint Ruth's hospital is on record as saying that, in the days following their admission to the ICU, these young adults tested positive for several other infectious diseases, some of which were common among the reported cases, some unique to individual patients.

The CDC has begun an official investigation into the patients to learn what connection, if any, they share.
