Green's phone begins to ring. It's a construction foreman that he's worked for on a lot of jobs over the years. Usually, they don't call him, so it must be something good this time! Probably a good chance for Malcolm Green to get some greenbacks.
Given the rarity of the occurrence, Green responds promptly.
"It's Green here. What do you need?"
"Hey! Uh, yeah, Green, I-uh, I got a job. It's short notice, but I really need somebody that's dependable, ya know? One of my guys, he-uh, he kinda had some kind of breakdown or something and that's left us in a bit of a bind. You up for some minor home repairs? It'll pay twice what you made last time, since-uh, since we're kind of double booked and should've been finished already. I know it's something you could handle, though. So, uh, you good for it?" the foreman, Steven, asked, a hint of desperation in his voice.
"Uh. Yeah. Yeah. Sure. I can make the time so... When do I start?"
Green rumbles, all nuance scrubbed from his voice.
"Ah, great! I knew you wouldn't leave me hanging," Steven gushed in relief. "It'll be in a couple days. We'll have the supplies for you on-site, just bring your own tools like usual. And thanks again. I'll meet you on-site Thursday and show you what we need. The address is 13 Echo Hollow Drive, in that new housing developement, Broceliande's Gardens. You can find it easy by just taking..."
The directions rambled on for a bit, but by the end of the small rant he did have a good idea of where exactly he was going to be working.
Green grunted.
He scrounged for some paper and took the address details.
"Got it. I'll be there."
"Great, great, and in the meantime, uh, take care of yourself," came Steven's strange farewell, and then the line went dead.
