Martha accepts to offered number with a bobbed curtsy and a cheery smile. "Thank you, sir!" she chirps. Smiling to everyone, she nods. Twin tails bob. "I must purchase these books! Please excuse me a moment whilst I do so!" she asks. Nodding her excuses, she skips and limps away from the group for a short while to pay for the books she has and to make certain that Mr Prise's number is safe in her blazer pocket.

"I will be sure to look for them Mr. Prise." Ariana grinned and turned to follow shortly after Martha to pay for her books.

Interesting evening at the library... She left the library intrigued at the night's conversation.

    And then some...

    Ariana exits scene.

Dillon's eyebrows raise a little as his eyelids droop, a sly look as he nods in agreement with Bobby. "Busted. I'm normally a mystery-suspense-thriller kind of guy, myself. With the occasional science fiction story. Not necessarily Star Trek or Star Wars, though there's nothing wrong with that. I enjoy the television and movies more. But I'm a long time fan of Michael Crichton. None of his movies have been able to touch the books. They really couldn't. He packs half a textbook worth of information in each one, and manages to make it entertaining at the same time."

Even if the Gangrel was forced to reread several paragraphs about genetics and mathematics that sailed miles over his head in Jurassic Park, it was still extremely interesting. It also left him wondering silly things like how much vitae it might take to ghoul a dinosaur.

Noticing Martha scamper off to pay for a mini-armload, he considers whether or not to chide her later about the mortals she chose to hunt, but he didn't want to risk her taking a friendly joke the wrong way. Offering a small wave to Ariana, and presumably Lance, as they left, he looks back to Bobby. "So what are you into? Got any insight on all of this?" There is another nod to the tables.

Bobby listens to Dillon with some interest, nodding as he talks about Crichton's work. "You must admit that seeing the dinosaurs on the big screen was at least a little fun," he says in a playful voice. "But I must agree with you nonetheless. It's usually the case with many movies adapted from good novels; they usually don't live up to the expectations." He gives a little nonchalant shrug as he says this.

"As far as my own interests go...well, I do dabble in some science fiction every now and then," says the Mastigos in response to Dillon's question. "And I do enojy mystery novels, especially some of the classics of the crime fiction genre. Even to this day, I don't think many compare to the works of Arthur Conan Doyle. The man created one of the most celebrated literary figures of the past century!"

There's a brief pause as the eager youngster catches his breath.

"With that being said, I've found myself reading a lot of historical fiction lately," says Bobby, resisting the urge of going into a rant about the good old Mr. Holmes. "However, the majority of authors in the genre tend to make gross, sometimes even absurd statements about some of the time periods and civilizations they touch upon in their fiction." He frowns slightly at this, but the gesture quickly fades away. "That is to be expected of course, since many of them aren't trained historians. But every now and then, you find one that actually takes the time to do their research and manages to write an engaging story out of it."

Martha's book payment task did not take long. Smiling, she hopped and skipped her way back to the chatting group...only to see Ariana had departed. Nodding to Dillon and Bobby, she smiled and clutched her bag of books tightly to her chest. Trying to catch the context of their chatter. Cheerfully eager to hear what they are talking about.

Dominyk walked up to the elder librarian and flashed her a bright smile, a perfect contrast to the disapproving scowl she returned him. He was happy he had spoken to a few, and even managed to capture one into meeting him again. That was good enough for him.

“Don’t be so pushy, Norma.” he said before making his own financial exchange for the books he had picked out.

I’ll go on collecting books until I die, I could probably open my own library at this point.

Okay everyone, this thread is very quickly nearing the one month mark -- read as: Tomorrow.
I’m thinking another week should be able to cover what anyone needs to do.

I love all you wonderful people, but get out of my library.

"Oh, definitely," Dillon agrees about the screen dinos with a raise of his eyebrows; an expression that suggested he would be crazy to argue something like that. "There's just only so much you can do with an hour and a half of special effects though, right?

"To give you a different example than Jurassic Park, Sphere had some really neat information in it that stuck with me."
The library's book on artillery lay forgotten on the table nearby, as Dillon gestures his along with his words, subtly and lightly with his hands. "If I recall, one of the protagonists was some sort of sociologist, psychologist, or some sort of specialist in behavioral sciences, so that is his main contribution and insight in the book. When the story is reduced to three characters-- which isn't much of a spoiler, this is Crichton we're talking about-- he describes how socially fragile that type of situation actually is. Especially in a prolonged emergency or survival scenario.

"Funny, considering how a lot of stories, film, and videogames have the characters hoofing around in groups of three: Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli style. But that is the most unstable number of individuals to try and work together. There's always an attitude that develops of 'the other two are plotting against me' in each person's mind, whether it's justified or not.

"You'd have to read it yourself, if you haven't, to get the full skinny. I can only remember so much."
Dillon watches Martha on her way back over, his face a perfectly involuntary smile. "But if Holmes and historical fiction is your thing, give Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child a try. They have a nice little disclaimer at the beginning of each book that goes something like 'we have not hesitated to alter the history and geography of the location to suit the purposes of this narrative'... Well, anyone that says that is bound to give you an entertaining read."

As the tiny Herald gets closer, Dillon waves her into the conversation eagerly. "Bobby, this is Martha. Martha: Bobby." He knew it was getting late, but heck, they still had a few minutes. Looking down at her bag of books, his grin turns just a tad sly. "We're just discussing Sherlock Holmes and dinosaurs, more or less. Did you pick out anything specific that caught your interest, or were you just carpet bombing?"

Martha is visibly excited and clearly pleased to meet Bobby. With a cheery tone she greets him with a curtsy, still clutching the books to her chest. "Good evening to you, Mr Bobby! I do hope you are well!" she enthuses, her blue eyes searching out Bobby for clues to accent, body language...her examination is swift and not intended to be intrusive, just curious. "Goodness, I do so enjoy a Sherlock Holmes mystery! I even enjoyed the Beekeepers Apprentice, though I get the feeling I somehow ought not to have done! Well, I have purchased some books featuring fictional romance!" she smiles. Just bubbling with sweet innocence.

    Sorry for the delayed responses...
James had quietly listened to the conversation for a while, then excused himself for a moment to go acquire his book. Paying for the book and making his way back, he found Martha Villiers having joined the conversation with the mortal and Dillon. He returned with a smile, holding a large new book called The Structure of Singing: System and Art in Vocal Technique. It was heavy reading for a Gangrel, but with determination, Jim was sure he could get through it, molding the concepts to his art regardless of what the Beast had to say about it.

Making his way back, he smiled at the group. Waiting for an appropriate time after Martha spoke, he said, "Hey guys, sorry about that. I figured I ought to go snap this awesome book up before someone else did." With that he fell silent, allowing the conversation to continue naturally, although he caught Dillon's eye and looked at Martha's stack of books with a hint of happy amusement.

The head-librarian glared at him, but he returned with a bright grin, and yet she remained impassive as she impulsively began to count through the money they had managed to take in. He shrugged and looked back out at the tables, only a few small groups of patrons still remaining, and the few stragglers making their way over to Norma and her hoarded cashbox.

He pulled a brown paper bag from behind the librarian’s desk and walked up to Martha again. “Lady-Miss Martha, I believe this might be able to help you.” the tall man said as he offered the open bag for her books. Sidewise he looked at the three gentlemen.

“Good evening, can I help any of you?” he asked with the bright smile of a librarian.
