Matt Kelly
Matt simply smiles at the odd young woman's rather odd answer to why she was here. It had been an honest question to try and get to know Martha a bit more, maybe make a connection that might even force him to talk about Sara and how much he missed her. However it seemed that Martha didn't want to talk, which was fair enough.
"The future huh. Yeah I guess it can be called part of the future." It was a Launch Party after all.

"Quite so! Quite so!" she enthuses in another jolly reply. Taking a moment to sip at her Coke a little more, smiles and presses on, "Of course...this is not my natural environment, sir!" she giggles merrily, adding a few miming gestures to indicate books and the frame of pictures...the music is loud, so she's trying to add well meant visual clues, "I usually haunt art galleries, museums and...of course...public libraries! Might I ask, sir...where your usual haunts may be?" she asks, seemingly genuinely interested.

"Well I usually hang out around the Sacramento State campus, it's close to where I work and I like the student centered businesses. Reminds me of my time at university and I've got some friends on fraternity row." It was the truth, although free time was a luxury with the wall Matt had been pushing himself over the past few months.

This interests Martha a great deal; "Oh! University, eh? Might I ask, please, sir...what did you Read?" wide eyed, eager to know more, she rests her empty Coke glass down, collects the full second one and watches Matt, attentively.

Matt smiles at the term "Reads" and realizes that Martha reminds him of some of the female English debaters he'd competed against in what seems like a lifetime ago. "Pre-Law and History at Cornell University. What school did you attend if you don't mind my asking?"

Martha nods, impressed...Cornell seemed to be one of the right answers. "Oh...goodness! How impressive! Cornell, goodness me! Well, I attended Oxford...Read for Greats and well...History as an undergraduate...the studied other history later...I do enjoy study!" she enthuses, wide eyed. "Tell me, please: what did you specialise in?...as a thesis, I mean!" more genuine interest, she leans closer, trying to hear all the better over the noise.

"Oh, Ajax, is it?" Natasha commented as Jillian let slip his full name while hooking her arm in Jillian's own. "Certainly, although nothing fizzy. I can't hold it down anymore."

"Yeah, sounds good. Tell you what, Al, I'm a phtographer for the Bee, how about I join you for a day and take some pics here and there, make an article about what you do. How does that sound?"

Alice took his arm gladly. She thought she could be a little proud of herself now, so she was.
'Actually I'm born in England Sir. Though the last five...' Alice moves a bit closer and says softly, 'decades or so, I've lived in France. And it's quite a beautiful language in my opinion. Over the years I've gained a slight accent.' With her explanation done, she looks forward to what's coming next, walking arm in arm with the Prince.

"Well my area of specialization was American political history, but I always loved the history of popular culture and our perceptions of it. Also the Civil War. That's my deep dark secret, I'm a Civil War junkie. I'm one of the few people in the world who can sit through Gettysburg in a single sitting. Gods and Generals ... not so much." He offers Martha a smile as if he was letting her in on a big secret.
"I was at Oxford a couple of years ago. Only for a few days but it ... it was a great time." He remembers times before the Change, it seemed like a distant dream or even a movie. Like all the things he did were part of his memory bank but had been experienced by someone else.

"It's getting late and I am sticking around to help Kat close the place." He gives a grin to Jillian. "You girls play nice. Or not."

"Sweet! That sounds awesome! You can find me in some of the parks just running, so stop by!" Vinnie could swear he didn't just offer this guy a million dollars, but Al-Adin sure acts like it.
