"Fantastic" Conner thinks to himself as he weighs his options. Conner looked about again for another moment before deciding he has no other options. He could not dig himself deep enough to be safe. And he could be buried even deeper by the workmen. Perhaps too deep. Conner put his legs over and attempted to make his way down the well, using the jutting rocks as best as he can for foot and hand holds.

Conner slides his legs over and as he sets his foot down on the edges of a rock he realizes that he may need a little extra umph. So Conner calls upon the Vitae within him to amplify his strength and he makes the climb down.

As Conner descends, the air gets noticeably cooler. A mortal's fingers would be stiff and aching at the chill and stress placed upon them, but the Mekhet is able to ignore the discomfort. It's a difficult task, finding finger and foot holds, but he's able to manage, at times due to sheer strength alone.
Following the claw marks, they end roughly 40 meters down, and Conner finds a connecting shaft curving upward and away from the one he's in. It might be a ventilation or flood relief measure.... but there was no corresponding hole topside that he remembered.
The claw marks disappear into the connecting tunnel.
As Conner walked he took out his cell phone and sent a futile text message to Cheyenne letting her know the situation.
*Stuck Underground, Unable to get out before Daybreak, Contact O'Connor and Von Shusten ASANF.* Conner inserted the location of the hole to the best of his knowledge, again knowing that the message would never get out. But he had to try...
