Narration:
As he sat down for his nightly grooming, Olivette informed Asa there was a news story he probably would not find very pleasing, especially following so closely on the tail of the recent incident at the Happy Pony and that he was scheduled to meet an important Invictus figure from out of town in a couple hours. She put in the tape, and he saw the following:

Asa watched the news as Olivette trimmed and styled his hair. His jaw tightened in irritation as the details were revealed, and he wondered if he had been too lax with the Staley neonate.
Another incident, so soon. Eyes in other cities may turn this way. I shouldn't have been lenient, it appears.
Is this how it begins?
Who was Freddrick when he ascended? Or Tobias, for that matter? Perhaps Plato, or Calvin, are right...
Asa shook the thought, and considered what to do. Pia and O-Yama were investigating the other incidents. What was Staley doing? As his thoughts turned back to that one, he grew more agitated. Although he didn't look it, he was... nervous?... about his meeting later.
He was tense, and irritated. Peripherally, he heard the shower running, and a small smile came as he recalled the cursing Ishani had done about having to dress 'like a damn Invictus'. Still, the smile was fleeting.
Reaching up, he caught Olivette's wrist and pulled her around to face him. She nodded, and began unbuttoning her blouse cuff. Asa shook his head imperceptibly and reached out to the lower portion of her blouse, pulling her down to her knees. Olivette swept her hair away from her neck, and began unbuttoning her blouse instead, eyes downcast.
Another slight shake, although she couldn't see it. He reached out and placed her hand on his crotch and used his other hand to apply pressure to the back of her neck. The eyes flashed up, distaste, confusion, for a split second before looking down again. Her hands began to move and she leaned forward.
Some fools killed their messengers.
