Feeling a resurgance of fear from his familiar, Animus quickly changes his mind. As he follows Zero out the door, he tells his familiar to return to the Sanctum.

Animus' phone buzzes and he flips it open. When he reads the message, he almost drops it in surprise. He types in two messages, his hands shaking, before speaking. Zero and Josh get the impression that he's seen a ghost.
"That was one of my cabal-mates. He must have somehow been thrown through the gauntlet. I told him to meet me at the park."
