A Gift to the Judex

A package arrives at BDN. The Box is plain cardboard but inside is another box. This one gift wrapped in black wrapping paper with purple and silver ribbon on it. Attached to the Gift is a Card with a flourished T on the cover.

Once the Card is opened there is a Letter.

To the Good and Honorable Judex Twist, Viscountess of the Invictus,

Enclosed is a Small gift to you, the Right Honorable Judex. It is my sincere hope that this gift pleases you and finds you well.

The Gift

Sitting cross legged on her bed, Twist pulled the mask out slowly. Pushing the box to the side she ran fingers softly over the grooves of the face, tickling fingertips with the plush feathers. After a long moment of admiring the mask she pulled out the necklace. The neckalace only got a brief glance over before she laid it underneath the mask. Rolling in a move that would make a number of people wince at how it squeezed organs, she ended up laying on her belly, chin resting on folded hands to admire the image the mask and necklace made against the dark color of her bedspread.
