Ah fuck me. Charlie continues running in the direction of his car only instead of running to the vehicle, he looks for the nearest tree to duck behind at a safe distance away from the cylinder. After ducking behind a tree he tries looking around to see if he can locate his attackers. He pulls out his pistol and keeps it close against his chest wondering where Max went. Did he split on me or what?

As each man tries to break out of the copse of trees, branches give way to grasping hands and arms that stop them. Some feel moist and slick; others leathery and papery.
The concussion grenade detonates, jarring teeth and senses. The last thing Max sees before his Auspex enhanced senses send him into a snowy white thunderous hell is a pale, sallow face with chipped teeth and white eyes.
Looks like Charlie and Max aren't the only undead out this night.
Each takes 1B; the rest of the concussion grenade is fairly useless against undead.
Max is blind and deaf for six turns & needs to roll STA to remain conscious.
Charlie is blind and deaf for one turn.

Fuck! Where is everybody? God damn it I knew it was a flash bang so why was I an idiot and didn't bother covering my eyes?
As soon as Charlie feels hands on him he doesn't really fight back against them, instead he forces blood through his system to add more to his fortitude as he anticipates a gauntlet of pain coming from his captors.

The wonderful thing about being mindless is that you don't really question things that don't make sense.
So when the concussion grenade 'killed' the two men, there was only one thing left to do:
Dispose of the bodies.
Hands dragged the men down, and sharp teeth began consuming their dead flesh.
