He never said that. Studying change and pursuing the great work is very important.
He just isn't sold on Coils. They're improvements, but they have not as of yet been shown to lead to transcendence.
And actually, if you note what he said, it was a huge complaint that for an organization so intent on learning everything we can to achieve this great thing, we seem to be pretty damned lacking in info.
