Jordan encouraged his charges as best they could as they made painfully slow progress. They could go no faster than their slowest comrade, and they stopped several times so Jordan could rub cold legs into circulation or re-inflate their jury-rigged floaties. He concentrated on the task at hand; for the moment, there was nothing else in the world...just him and those kids and the goal.

Jack changes course slightly, but he can see that the focus is on the children; the large group Jordan is herding, and the teacher with the lone child.
Jordan's group continues to make slow, but steady progress.
The pilot is yelling at the people on shore, and they appear to begin gathering jump-starting cables and anything else that can fashion a rope.
The second time Orphan scours, the pain is agonizing; he convulses, and the child slips through his cold, numb fingers.

Well... They'll have to pass by me, eventually. Best not to chase it and get caught in the wake, Jack thinks as he tries to find sometime, the perfect time even, to make headway. Alas, he's stuck just treading water, even when he tries to manipulate Destiny in his favor.
Prolly not the best time to scour anymore with all these Sleepers present... Too much internal bleeding without much of a reason as to why would raise questions...

Orphan feels the Abyss struggle against his spell, once and then again. As badly injured as he is, racked with pain, he chooses to not internalize the chaos, though the second time he spends most of what Mana he has to reduce the risk of a severe paradox. The spells spin out of his control.
Too late, he realizes he's let go the child he has been carrying. He attempts to grab him, but comes up short.

The shore crew has managed to fashion a rope from odds and ends, and are pulling the pilot to shore. A small private boat putters up next to the teacher and his charge, and begin working to get them aboard.
Orphan rolls his Swim with a -1 instead of the -5; all other penalties apply.

Orphan manages to find and pull up the boy, but he still isn't making much headway with getting to shore. He waves to the people on shore, hoping they can get the rope out to him and his passenger, so he can head out to try to help Jack.
