(( OK what is teh 2nd floor crew (Tug, Bacchus, Falx) using for light? And for Orphan at the 1st/ground floor landing? ))
~~Narration~~
Joshua lets the Steel Window close and waits.
And waits.
It's been roughly ten long seconds since he let the spell drop.

((Sorry, I misspoke/was confused re: first floor, I meant second floor with the others.))
Orphan attempts to produce a Spatial Map in his head, allowing him to perceive without light or sight... and fails.
D'oh!
"Okay, maybe we were too hasty in dropping the nightsight thing, Falx," he says.
((Bacchus is using other sense than sight to detect things still.))
"If able you may wish to consider other means other than night sight or in addition to it, perhaps a snakes sense of smell and heat or a worms vibrational sense? Just a thought." Is what comes from Bacchus quietly but so that the other three are sure to hear.

"Agreed Orphan. I'd rather have to deal with a new sense right now if I don't have to Bacchus."
(Are there any lights present where we are?)

Falx holds up his steel knife and stares at it for a few moments.
no dox for me
1 suxx
He smiles as his knife starts to give off faint light, enough to see where they are going at least.

Finally able to see pretty well, Orphan is glad of the light. He gives Falx the "thumbs up" sign as best he can holding a sword in each hand.

|
Falx motions for Tug and Orphan to stand by the door. In a quiet voice. "We hold here. It's not worth the risk of pushing through and getting pinned down in there. And this way we can fall back and help the others if things go south for them as well." He looks at Bacchus. "We'll watch the stairs so we don't get any surprises."

Joshua waits, and waits, and nothing happens. Nothing... happens.
Time to stop pussy-footing around. Joshua crouches down, gun ready, pointed towards the door. He creeps towards the door, and with his left hand he reaches over and grasps the handle. He takes a breath, steadies himself, and opens the door--just a little bit, enough to see if anyone's standing there or to slam it shut if need be.

~~Narration~~
Joshua peers into the darkness, and recoils at the sight of the 'soap' he had seen being carried earlier. A chunk of it is placed at the door's bolt, and a small ignition cap is set into it.
Joshua throws himself backward, just before three loud thumps are heard. The door flies off of the blown hinges and is thrown out at the Sentinel. He manages to dodge it, and his Aegis robs the huge steel projectile of it's impetus, but it still deals him a painful blow to his shoulder and knocks him down. Teegan's light reflects off of mp5 muzzles inside the room.
The upper group hears the hollow thumps and loud clang of the door falling just as they reach the switchback one flight before the second floor landing.

Falx stops in his tracks. "That's not good......" ~This is getting out of hand...wonder if we should pull out...~ he wonders as he turns to look down the stairs.
