Exhaustion starts to settle in and Ankh begins to feel cramped in her current skin. She wants to go home and curl up on her couch and finish that damn chineses book. She watches Tug and sighs. She doesn't want to change forms and she is low on mana. Maybe they will only have to continue for a little while longer. She continues to fly toward the bus stop and hopes to God this time the asian man will just do something useful.

Animus follows Ankh toward the bus stop, seemingly tireless. I just wish I knew what it was she saw.

The bus stops, and Ankh sees the man step off. He begins walking down the street, towards a nearby coffee shop. He pockets a telephone, looking to have just finished a conversation.

Tug does remember a certain kind of bird from an environmental newsletter that oughta work. Good thing, too, because even as he sees the Asian man walking toward the coffee shop, he's starting to feel naked again, and the others must be feeling it too. Tugbird coos at the others, then ascends to get away from the Sleepers for one more change...

The Abyss bites him again, hard, but it's just a little more pain, Tug can handle. They've come too far to go back empty-handed. A small shorebird greets the two pigeons with a squawk, then nods that he's ready to take watch so the others can Change.

Ankh flies up higher and begins her cast to change skins. She lets out a squawk of pain as the paradox slams into her again and if she could she'd be wincing with the feel of it. Finally the spell takes hold and she shifts forms, coming back down in an owl form.

Much as Animus wanted to hang on to this spell, the others were right about the form growing too conspicuous. Soaring into the air, he follows Ankh's lead and chooses the owl's shape, once again temporarily dropping his Sense Life to ease the act of concentration. And the spell slips through his grasp.

Squaking in annoyance, he once again calls up the Imago, but this time the spell succeeds.
That's better
Finally satisfied, he drops the previous shifting spell to allow the new one to take effect and recalls his Sense Life spell before rejoining his companions.

Ankh lets out a high pitched hoot and dives lower to the ground. She makes her way above the asian man's head and gives a small dive toward him, then pulls up and reels away ahead of him toward the southeast.

Watching Ankh's antics, Animus takes a look at the man, then flies ahead, hoping to find a perch where he can see his face.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Tug watches Ankh's fly-by, sees her target, and almost follows after Animus, before realizing that might betray the both of them. Instead, he waits just a moment, then flies off at an angle from Animus, and looks for a place to watch the man Ankh indicated.
