She didn't like leaving Seraphina behind, but Sonnie wanted to ensure this road was safe. Or, at least, safer than the warren.

The Beast eyed the cloud wisps warily, concerned they might be related to the chill fog, but so far they seemed benign. The fog below was rising. Not good. Not good at all. This whole dream world was being consumed!

[Saber Sloth]

Sonnie searches, and it barely takes any time before she notices within the clumping of fog, more of those humanoid shapes, coalescing and relentlessly moving closer and closer and closer to the Lost - to the Dreamer.

Vincent stays as a rearguard, mind whirling as he thinks on what had blocked the fog before. When they were in the forest the fog seemed to want to herd them staying back on it's own, and when they'd taken to the rooftops the had seemingly left the fog behind, now that there seems to be a clear path towards the Dreamer it has risen. It seems to keep the fog at bay they'd have to make sure the path to the Dreamer wasn't a clear one.

Sera thinks, her mind tumbling back to a talk she had with Rhodes about Dreams and Fear - the Dreamer knowing they were being chased, hunted, and knowing they couldn't be found, but due to the nature of the nightmare, knowing they was always, always found and hurt and - since they hadn't been killed yet, they'd managed to wake first, escaping the reach of the Oneirovores, but with night after night the hunt continues, the knowing is more and more, turning that feeling into a feedback loop, turning themselves into a beacon in the dark. A lighthouse in the fog.

"Ah!" The Dreamer gasps, as Sera leads them both up a petal path of ephemeral flotsam appears leading them both away from the rooftops and the fog, leading them closer and closer to the flying nimbus carrying Sonnie into the air.

In the air, away from the normal path of the Nightmare, the Dreamer's white glowing beacon starts to fade...

She turns and nods to Vincent, “Please be careful, run to us if you need to.” She was serious.

A reassuring smile was offered as the ascended. But as the white glow began to fade, she was beginning to piece some things together.

“Do you think you can focus on me and my friends and not what you are running from? I know it’s difficult, and I know you’ve done this over and over again. But we are here to get you out safely and make the chase, and the nightmares end.”

Vincent looked around for something to block the path of the fog, not sure what he could use.

Using the surrounding buildings, he began to move the bricks to build a wall between the fog and them, raising it higher than the building that he currently stood on, curving the wall into a warped wall.

The sight of the Fog racing in was enough to give her the urge to run back down to her Queen, but she wasn't sure she could get back down there in time to matter. Best to let her voice make the journey instead.

Cupping her hands around her face, she yelled in the direction of Sera & Friends.

"This evening's forecast: FOG! Rolling in from every direction, folks! Thick and heavy! Travel Advisory to GET THE HELL UP HERE!"

The cloud she was on reminded her her new Hedge friend, though he (it?) couldn't get this high yet. Mental note to train with him more.
