    0 Scenes



    The sun shinning down on them was warm, but distantly, the wind brisk and a hair away from bitter-sharp. Summer giving way to Autumn, present in the way the rich summer greens were fading and dulling with every breath of the not quite bitter winds.

    The last major patrol the Lost had done had them finding trapped briar wolves, they hadn't found whomever was trapping them, or if they continued to attempt to do so. Keeping an eye out for any traps, sprung or unsprung would be wise. One never knew what one would find within the ever shifting and present dangers of the Hedge.




    Since y'all have Patrolled before, I'm starting us off already in the Hedge. With that can I get Perception (remember Clarity!) and a Wits + Survival, remember to include your stats and currently carried Equipment in each post!

    The wildness that infuses a Beast gives her a supernatural affinity with animals. A Beast gains the benefit of the 8 again rule when using the Animal Ken Skill, and receives a free Specialty for the one animal that most reflects the Beast’s seeming. That same wild nature gives a Beast a powerful personal magnetism. A Beast’s player can spend points of Glamour to add to dice pools involving Presence and Composure. Each point of Glamour spent adds one die to one dice pool.

    Tooth and Claw

    Can inflict lethal damage instead of bashing damage when fighting unarmed.


    Burning Hypnotism

    Once per scene, the player may spend one Glamour to surround the Flamesiren with a blazing flame-like aura. Anyone looking at the Flamesiren must make a successful Resolve + Composure roll or suffer a two-dice penalty to all actions until the character decides to douse the aura or the scene ends, thanks to the distraction.

    Vincent was still concerned with what they found last time. Yes they had taken out a briar wolf and who had trapped it. He hoped that they would find answers but that also meant hoping that whoever set the trap continued to do so. Vincent touches his wolf tattoo and activates his contract Beast's Keen Senses.

    Knowing the hedge he looks around now using his newer sharper senses to aid him,

The helix of her ears elongate out 2" inches ending in a tip. Her features sharpen and her figure has an unnatural, inhuman litheness that can be intellectually disturbing.

    Circe's heavy armor was not on display for this trip. It had some, well, cleaning issues. And needing airing out after her little solo jaunt. She'd had to dig out a more flattering combination of armors this time.


    The Hedge is always a dangerous place, regardless of how therapeutic Circe sometimes found using it for thinking. Not deep thinking, don't do that here, you need to not ignore your surroundings. Like she was not doing now, sweeping with the rifle towards the unknown.


    There was always something to use it on in the Hedge.


    And whilst Circe might have wanted to go first whence wearing the riot gear, she didn't have it on now. And she needed to find her breastplate. Agility was the game. That and she was sure she could shoot around Vincent.

    The real side of Jasper looks very similar, tall and lanky with a lithe build. The glaring difference is his head: a large shaggy head of what looks like an Irish Wolfhound rests on his shoulders. A pair of expressive green eyes and alert ears give him an alert and kind look to his features. He still has that same rugged good looks about him, despite the blocky canid snout he has. His leather jacket looks very well made and hangs on his lanky form almost like a second skin, the furred interior looking soft and blacker than the night.

    The light floral scent of honeysuckle with the slight tang of musk beneath it, like a good sweat earned after a roll beneath the sheets.

    With a soft huff of frustration, he looks peers about, his nose twitching as he tries to catch scents but they aren't coming like they usually do.

    After he has a bit of a look around, he'll approach one of the thorny vines almost always present in the hedge and, if he finds one, he'll move to pluck a single thorn from it, wincing slightly as he makes sure it pricks his fingertip in the process.

    They all keep the Path. A task made more difficult with their focus outward, towards possible threats, and the swiftly changing colours and darkening skies. Between when they stepped through and traversed Autumn had finally settled upon the Hedge.

    The Beasts focus sharp, invoke their Clause, senses sharpening, as scents come quickly upon the brisk winds. Jasper is overwhelmed, or perhaps he's more focused on making sure none of them leave the Path, but Vincent might have been a touch more prepared for the onslaught. Coming from the North Vincent scents something old - fetid, rotting.

    Both are still no match for Circe, and her years of experience, however. Despite the fact that it's been a while since a proper Patrol has been organized and traversed these paths, they haven't had to cut any of the ever encroaching Hedge away, and further down, Circe can see, through her scope that there's been heavy steps crushing leaves and breaking branches underfoot. Heading northward.

    Circe is a little more on edge than her last trip into the Hedge. Less armor will do that. Or the reason she had less armor, a reminder of the dangers that lurk in the Thorns, even if she did conqueror like a BOSS.


    Huh? There is a game trail or something north. Or at least somebody big has been going north. "There's a trail heading north," she shines the light on the path, emphasizing its presence. "Someone went that ah way. I'd call that a lead," she looks to the puppy men, to see if they have any better thoughts on the matter.

    If they get nothing better, then north it'll be for her vote.

    Hunterheart Flamesiren

    Vincent smelled smells, it was old, rotting smell. Not sweet but fetid, the stench was strong in his nostrils. When Circe pointed in the direction of the smell, he at first thought she caught the scent as well but realized she saw something. "Yeah, we might want to be careful, the smell coming from that direction is the stench of rot and death. Not sure what it means just yet but it is not pleasant to say the least." Vincent paused "What do you think Jasper, are you able to get anything from the smell?"

    Vincent readied his bow in preparation of following Circe if she decided to move further in.

    "Could be our trapper, got trapped and died." She concludes and realizes how cheesy that sounds. Like, 1980s C-movie tag line cheese. On the plus side, the smell would make it obvious when they get close.


    "Well, it is lead," she nods with a wary smile towards to Vincent. Then Circe looks at the quiet Jasper. The smell must be really bad. "Even if just a grave. I say we check it out. Bullets are cheap."


    That was the Groundskeepers vote. Rot meant danger or septic problems, both of which should be addressed.
