Local Dive Bar

[Alessandra]

What does the Prince and Queen of the local Mafia do when she needs to escape? Drive to one of her favorite dive bars, one which isn’t packed. A place where she could easily blend in and for maybe a night, just be herself. No fancy titles, no Domain business, no Mafia politics, nothing. Just be Ale.

Throwing on a pair of black leather pants and a fitted half sleeve black top, she entered the bar. The shirt allowed for one full sleeve of ink to be on display, with hints of the other sleeve. Her lips were a blood red which actually matched her nails. Yeah, she caved and agreed to try some polish. Her skin, while still pale, had a warm lively appearance to it, as her once dead heart beat again.

The Torino sat parked in front, shining from a recent wash.

A leather coat was draped on over the booth, it had gotten a little chilly in the evenings. Or so she’d been told.

The booth was easily visible, which gave her a good view of the door. Which she looked at every now and then as she played with a glass filled with an amber liquid.

With a small jingle of a bell, the door opens and the tall Irishman ducks down as he steps into the bar. He pauses for a moment at the door, stepping to the side to make sure he's not in the way as he stands back up to his full height. He's dressed in a pair of jeans, faded with age and use, a pair of boots, and a t-shirt beneath his fur-lined leather jacket.

His nostrils flare for a moment and he glances around at the different tables until he spots someone that looks very familiar. A smile spreads on his lips as he looks at her for a brief moment and then heads to the bar to grab himself a Guinness before making a beeline towards Ale. "Good evenin', Sofia. It's good to see you 'round. Mind if Ah join ya?"

The sound of the door raises her eyes, a soft chuckle to herself at the familiar sight.

Seriously, you don’t forget a fucking giant with red hair and an accent. It just doesn’t happen.

After getting his drink and approaching, “Jasper, we have to stop running into each other like this.” Replies the Savage with a smile, “And sure.” Motioning to the other chairs.

“How you been?”

[Jasper]

"You sure 'bout that?" the big red-haired man asks with a grin and sets down his glass before he shrugs out of his coat and drapes it over the back of his seat and lowers himself down into it, seating himself across from the Savage as the Beast moves with supple grace of someone used to a body so large. He looks lanky, stretched out, sure, but he's got a nice build to that seven foot plus frame of his. He folds his legs carefully under the table, careful not to bump a knee against a table leg nor against Ale's.

Once seated, he takes a slow sip of his stout before setting it down again and wiping a bit of head off of his mustache with a quick lick of his tongue. "Ah've been pretty good lately. How 'bout yourself?" he asks.

“You know what? I’m not quite sure yet.” She replies with a smirk, “Ask me again in a few.” Surprisingly, she was starting to like his company. Amusing for a Kine.

A sip of her own beer was taken, her own beer light in comparison to the Guinness, “Good to hear.” Ok, small talk. She could do this. It’s like Kindred politics, but without the fangs and stakes. “Can’t really complain, took the night off from work. Ever find a place that sells that record you had mentioned?” an inked hand was held up and she ordered two shots of gin. “If you don’t like gin, no worries, I can drink them both.”

[Jasper]

He can't help the smile that comes to his lips at her response to his question. He nods and glances her over, liking her outfit. His gaze lingers for a moment on her ink sleeve before he takes another sip of his beer.

"Yeah, Ah'm taking the night off too. What do you do?" he asks. He shakes his head, "Nah, no Cranberries on LP. I did find a place that had some CDs of Bach and Beethoven so Ah picked them up." He grins and nods, "Gin's not my go to, 'specially not straight, but Ah'm not gonna turn it down none neither," he says, taking his shot with a bit a shake of his head and slight wince. He sips at his Guinness and looks over at Sofia. "Next round's on me," he says.

See the thing with Ale, she always speaks her mind. Social tact she didn’t really have, “Like the ink?” she asks as she takes another drink. She’d gotten numerous and vastly different opinions on her numerous tattoos over the years. She was used to all opinions, and didn’t actually care either way.

“A little bit of everything actually. Real estate, run a restaurant and am the CEO of a private company.” Yup…a little bit of everything. There really wasn’t a nice way to say she ran the criminal underground of the city. It was frowned upon, things were not like they were back in the day. “And you?” fair is fair.

“Huh, figured there would some good online places for hard-to-find LP.” Now she was curious about this band. What made them so hard to find? “If it’s not, then someone is missing out a business opportunity.” Mental note. Now she was surprised, “Really? You picked up some Beethoven? Consider me impressed.” And that was difficult to do. “Enjoying him?” to her, it didn’t sound the same on CD as when it was played live.

Laughing, “I hear that one more often than I would have thought. What would you suggest for something straight then?” her own shot downed quickly without any fuss. Gin was her go to. “I won’t say no to that.”

Jasper nods quickly to the question. "Very much so. Ah was just wondering if any of them have any special meanin' to ya?" he asks, his gaze lingering again.

His eyebrows lift up as she says what she does for a living. He certainly wasn't expecting that from her and he shifts slightly in his seat. "Oh wow. That's impressive.. Ah'm just a blue collar bloke. Odd jobs here and there. Nothing really..." he coughs slightly for a moment. "Nothing really special or.." he trails off for a moment.

"Ah might could find them online.. They just were out performing after LPs kind of fell out of favor and the band's no longer together since Dolores, their singer, passed," he says, with a shrug. He smiles and nods. "Of course. Ah love Beethoven, Bach, Chopin.. I grew up hearing them a lot." he says with another toothy grin.

"Depends on whether you want a shot or not. Vodka or tequila is good for a shot but whiskey is my go to drink usually. Good sippin' whiskey."

On the other end of the spectrum.

“Oh, almost all of them do. But there are a few that stand out, that are more special then the others.” Plus, after so many years, and so much ink, it had begun to blend for her. “I have a portrait of Beethoven on my thigh.” It had always been the most special, the one she cherished over all others. “What about you? Any ink?” truly curious.

Was it impressive? It didn’t seem that way to her. Most of what she did was a way of having legal business ties to cover illegal business ties. “Hey, blue collar work is special and nothing to scoff at.” She begins, “Without blue collar work, nothing would get fucking done. You should be proud of what you do. Being able to do odd jobs, a bit of this and a bit of that can lead to some great opportunities.” Finishing off her beer, “And if anyone tells you different, just tell em to fuck off. Works all the time.” A grin and wink added.

A slow nod, “Oh, ok. Well, LP’s may of fallen out favor, but I think they’ve always been made. Sort of one of those things that never goes out of style. Plus, when a singer or other member of a band dies, it means an increase in record sales, so I would bet money they have LP’s out there.” And she didn’t usually bet. “I’m just surprised because not many people listen to the classics these days.” But it was nice to see more and more getting into them.

“Well, if your go to is whiskey, lets go with a sippin whiskey. But I’m curious, as I have a few favorite whiskey’s, what makes one stand out to you?”
