She knew those words. She had walked down that Path with her own father.
And she knew she didn’t immediately come back. So her heart sank a little, but she kept a lid on that.
“I’m sorry to hear that! I hope he’s ok.” And she truly meant that. “Oh, sure, no problem, I got it covered.” Well, she kinda had to. “And I get it, no need to apologize, I understand. Go help your dad and we’ll be here when you get back.” A smile in her voice. Though her heart told her otherwise.
