There had been months of planning for the Coronation. Various ideas thought over, sketched out, then trashed. She wanted something magical, yet elegant. Not the easiest theme to bring together. But slowly, things began to click into place. Decorations had been found, food ideas figured out, and everything fell into place.
Finally, as the chill of Winter began to warm into a gentle Spring breeze, the night had arrived.
The inside of the Tavern had been transformed into a starlit room. Hundreds of fairy lights strung up among the beams, but not too many. Too many would make it look cheap and not magical. So it had taken hours to find the right balance of lights. They weren’t too bright, but emitted a soft, warm light.
Near the entrance, was a small table setup with a sign, written in the same elegant calligraphy as the invitations. Inviting you to take a packet of seeds and help bring in the beauty and rebirth of Spring by planting the seeds. Instructions were included, but were not difficult, they were native wildflowers to the area. The bags containing the seeds could be planted with the seeds!
There was a buffet table filled with fresh twigs and flowers from the Hedge and the mortal world along with different finger foods. A few that stood out were chocolate covered strawberries, and a fruit tray with various unique delights on it. One could also find various meats and vegetables.
Another table had some premade drinks resting on it. Champagne with strawberries, brightly colored drinks, some with alcohol, some without, signs designated which, drinks with edible flowers mixed in, as well as tea. Various flavors were offered. The bar was of course, fully stocked if someone wanted something from there.
One could hear soft instrumental music coming from outside. Where garden lights of various sizes had been hung in the trees, thanks to Sonnie! As well as some blankets with overly stuffed pillows on the ground. There was also a few benches and seats, but the center of the clearing had been left empty, so the Lost could dance if they felt the urge.
A table was setup on the edge, near a fire pit with a warm fire burning within it. The table had parchment paper and pens, a note asking the Lost to write what their heart Desired on it. Then seal it with the colored waxed offered, and place it in the fire. Which would illuminate into different colors from an ingredient mixed in with the wax.
