[Twist]

Olivette is given a single box directly from Kalos, to be delivered to Asa and Ishani. Preferably together.

What is inside?

Inside the box was lined with black velvet and settled carefully inside that was a book. It's design was old but the book itself appeared brand new. The gold leafing reflecting the light softly. The tiny roses worked in the background, a rich red to match the knotwork that took up most of the cover. Inside the center, there was no title, but rather an image of a rose in full bloom, the petals made of complicated knots and turns. And at the very center of that a single ruby was carefully inset to the leather.



Opening the book, the heavy cream pages were filled with carefully handwritten script. The first number of pages seemed a lineage, some entries having one date noted, others having two. The very last entry held a simple entry.

Twist. Child of Lady Luisa of Venice. 1987-

Turning the pages, more script filled the pages. It was in fact the history of Twist herself, carefully noted down in elegant penmanship that filled the page with scrolls and loops.

In the days to come, Asa, ever an avid reader, would open the book rather than those of his studies. He had been surprised initially, not associating the giver with bibliophile gifts, and that surprise had moved closer to shock as he had leafed through it.

Questions were answered, some with surprises that bred new questions. It had been a gift without reservation, and touching, given the small nuances Asa had noticed Twist had regarding privacy, which he now understood.
