Brews and Games

[Campanella]

"It is good to be seen," Campanella replies to Aurora's greeting.

The Moros had just claimed their spot and seated himself. He drew his drink toward him to make more space and kept a lingering hand on the perspiring glass. He leaned his head to one side, his momentarily narrowed, as he stared at the Shaman's beer.

"Ah! Two minds think alike. I think we have the same beer, Madison. I'm glad you suggested this place, it has character."

He chuckled and leaned back, watching with a smile as the other mages gathered around.

"Snacks will be arrive shortly. How have you all been?"

[Phoenyx]

The Arrow smiles at Naga's complement. "Thank you," she replies.

"You don't know that!" She protests to Aurora, before seeing the laugh and smile. "Oh," she murmurs, abashed. "You're joking." Phoenyx shifts a little awkwardly. "I do like watermelon." She takes the corresponding glass, sniffs it and tastes a tiny sip before cocking her head at the glass and following to the table.

Something about Skye's words make the Arrow go a little pink. "Um. Thank you. I prefer to wear practical things," she replies, not unkindly. "Skirts.... tend not to conceal very much." The other Arrrow always seemed so chatty and carefree. It was a little unnerving to the First Talon sometimes, simply because that did not come naturally to her. "Alice," she offers.

Taking a seat, Phoenyx looks at the Moros carefully. "Very well, thank you. How are you?" There is a gap between the sentences, as if she has to process how to keep a conversation going. The Arrow sips her watermelon beer again.It was somewhat growing on her, but felt a little heavy.

[Naga]

"Seasonal is always a good experiment. It's summer, so let's go for a summery brew," the Mastigos smiled, clearly interested in trying a new drink. "A fruity flavor sounds good. Something light and fun."

An eyebrow arched at Skye's request. "I suppose so, but I have final approval on the name." She was still a Silver Ladder, after all. She had to maintain some standards.

Joining the table, Naga sat down and smiled to Campanella. "Good to see you. Thanks for picking out a good table." It would be curious to see this man in a purely social setting. He certainly seemed more talkative outside of formal meetings.

"Well," she chuckled, "I'm honored to witness Alice's first beer consumption." Would it be as amusing as the night at the bar? That remains to be seen.

[Aurora]

Can they ever truly relax?

“Well, the thing with cheap beer is you get what you pay for. What you see is as cheap as they get here. Aside from that, it depends on what flavors you enjoy.” Some liked stouts, some liked pale ale.

A grin to Campanella, “Great minds think alike?” she says playfully. “They even give tours during the week if one wanted to see the brewing process.” She’d been on the tour a few times. “And I got some inside information about a good honey to use for a mead. So once I get that, I’ll be getting the process started, and if you still wanted to, you’re welcome to help. Or observe.” Picking up her glass for a sip, “But doing pretty good, how about you?” least he got out. This was a positive step.

Laughing, “You should know by know I enjoy joking with you.” She teases.

“Light, fun and fruity? Hmm,” looking thoughtful, “Oh! How about the Belgian style one? It has apricot and peaches, light, but still a beer. Or the Prickly Pear one. Citrus flavor with a hint of tart from the prickly pear.” Another good one.

Looking back to Phoenyx, “And,” she begins, “what’s the verdict?” beer wasn’t for everyone. Especially flavored beer.

Smiling gently towards Campanella.
"Pretty good, I have found a place where I can do some nice work with wood which is a nice way to calm my mind how about yourself anything good happened?"

Looking into the first talons eye with a warm kind smile.
"A person always looks the best in clothes that they feel the best in so as long as you're true to yourself so will you always look amazing." Her head gently leaning a bit "Personally I rather like short skirts as they are very easy to move in and if people wanna watch my legs go ahead I do not mind but that is what works for me." Releasing her look into her eyes "I look forward to the impossible wonders and tales that can be told from it then, may our time together spin a grander tale than the bygone one." Not sure she would get where those words came from but then again maybe that was for the best.

Looking over Vanessa and thinking hardly, her hand on her face as she keeps thinking and thinking before finally smiling widely.
"Vanessa meaning of the butterfly, a name for the butterfly that honors it would be Indra so would you mind that nickname?" It was also the name of a noble deity but the details on that were not really ones she was familiar with, the correlation with the butterfly being the extent of her knowledge.

"Hmm then I will simply gamble on one then, perhaps there is some decent ones." Heading over to the bar and ordering herself one of the cheaper strawberry ones before getting back to the table. "I went with a strawberry one that should be decent, my knowledge of beer is severely limited though"

Lightly sipping it a bit knowing that nursing it would be for the best.

[Campanella]

A smile teases at Campanella's lips when Naga addresses him. The acknowledgement was recognised by a faint nod of his head.

"I must admit, I am being won over with this one."

The Moros indicated his glass of perspiring beer. The answer was for the Warlock's benefit and for Aurora.

"What you are experiencing now are flirtatious experiments. Beer is usually... heavier... than this" he continued, turning his attention to Skye

He turned his attention back to Aurora as she mentioned the mead. "Oh I am still interested. Take whatever time and preparations you need. You might say I'm committed to the project. Call me when you need me."

At last, he turns his attention to Phoenyx

"Busy. But not with work. I've been working on a side project, which has taken on a life of its own and takes up more and more of my time. It is... related to personal development. You might say this project has been keeping me... awake at night."

The Alchemist chose his words with deliberate care despite their relative isolation from the rest of the function room. With the second pause one of the wait staff arrived with a platter of slides and a basket of fries. Campanella artfully let his speech end while he picked out a tasty miniature burger.

"Please."

He gestured to the food on offer.

[Phoenyx]

The Arrow nods to Naga, and offers an awkward smile to Aurora. Jokes were hard for her to get, but socialising came so easy to her Thyrsus friend. It was confusing sometimes. "It's... passable," she replies. "I like the fruit flavour but it is a little heavier than what I am used to. There is also a strange strong flavour aside from the fuit. I assume that would be the... hops?" She really wasn't sure.

Skye was also a little bewildering. She couldn't recall a girl calling her beautiful before, and there's a pause before she replies. "Thank you? I feel more comfortable in what I usually wear, but it is nice to dress up a little for... going out. Your outfit is very... dark. It looks like you have good freedom of movement in it." The conversation felt heavy and stilted, but she was trying. To her that was a compliment. It meant things were practical. Who didn't like practical?

She takes a seat at the end of table somewhat demurely, and looks to Campenella. She nods appreciatively. "Personal development and growth can so often be subsumed by other tasks, and loose their direction. I have found that they are more achievable when one is well rested, and the mind can become more focused. Meditation also soothes doubts and allows clarity of assessment." She glances around. "I have spent time on similar side projects outside of my usual fields of study, but I find applying the same methodology is always useful for structure."

[Naga]

Listening to Aurora's suggestion (and Campanella's, as well), she nodded in approval, "The Belgian brew sounds just about right. I'll order that."

Naga's gaze turned to Skye, and she gave the pink-haired Shaman a curious look, "Indra? Like the Hindu god? That's a little on the nose, isn't it?"

With a nod of thanks to the Moros, she selected a french fry to eat.

Ah, Phoenyx's first beer tasting. This got the Warlock's full attention. Smiling, she answered the First Talon, "I believe that's the hops, yes. Though I'm no beer expert."

[Aurora]

The talk of nicknames wasn’t all the interesting, just one of those things that didn’t really interest her. Shadow names were a pain in the ass to remember without a nickname thrown into the mix.

“The strawberry ones tend to be quite full of flavor. But not in a way that overpowers, it’s a delicate balance. Hard to achieve.” She was still trying to get one that came out good.

A happy smile, “Glad to hear it! Now to finish my devious plan and completely win you over with my homebrew.” She says laughing, suddenly finding her beer very interesting. Did she just say that?

“That’s a good point. Most people expect beer to be heavy and lack any special flavor. And the world of craft brews has really been taking off the last couple years. With more and more breweries stepping forward and creating amazing brews.” She loved craft beer, it took talent and patience.

A single nod, “I’ll hold you to that then. I hope to get something going in the next few months.” So long as the honey was as easy to get as the guy said.

Not with work? And listens with obvious interest. But it didn’t sound like something to really bring up. Not here anyways. What could he be working on? “Wow! I wish you luck with it! Just don’t let it take up too much of your time, you’ll drive yourself into an early grave.” They’d talked about that, and there was concern in her tone.

At the offer, she reaches for a French fry, using one hand to hold back the fabric of her sleeve.

A knowing nod, “Yeah, that’s probably the hops. There are other options if you want something with the fruit flavor and less hops. Lagers and light lagers have less hops then other beers. There are also ones called Gruit, instead of hops, it uses herbal mixtures. But they aren’t as common, a rarer find.” And not one she tried to make yet.

Pointing her fry at Phoenyx, “I can agree about meditation. It’s helped me quite a bit lately.” Then takes a bite from the fry.

At the mention of the Belgian beer, “Let me know what you think.” Those were sometimes a yes and sometimes a no. “Might not be an expert, but you are correct.”

Sipping her drink a bit.
"If you say so, I am far from an expert in the fields of alcohol over all. I have had plenty of forms of mead since they did enjoy to make whatever they could to drink back home and some various forms of stronger ones at some minor festivals but I am really not an expert in it at all and have not really been drunk much since leaving home." Looking over the various drinks everyone was enjoying "So is there any chance to see your collected art sometime?"

Smiling a bit towards Phoenyx, she was really trying and it was nice to see.
"You are right it does offer me great freedom of movement and I do enjoy that, I do enjoy to be able to move freely and use my gymnastic training whenever I so desire and well the color just goes with my naturally pale complexion don't you say?" Offering over her own strawberry drink "Wanna try each others? And don't worry people always shine in outfits they enjoy so you always look nice in your usual wear, easily one of the most gorgeous ladies I have ever encountered."

Her eyes quickly turned to Naga.
"It's a god? Sorry had no clue about that I just know that butterflies were sometimes referred to in that way so then how about hmm Asgi? Referencing the butterfly who brings the calming dreams we are blessed with at night, does that sound acceptable?"

Sipping her drink once more, just taking very small sips.
"This one was not all to bad, it does work for me at least even though it feels kinda odd I have always just thought of beer as light and dark with an annoying smell to them that made people have a very bad breath not to mention being a severe cause of littering."

Smiling from the offer of food and stealing a small piece for herself, softly nibbling on it.
"I would gladly learn your arts in the field though and help you along in any way I can if you are ever interested. I am better at growing things, making creations or repairing the broken things but I am not bad at learning new stuff nor do I have issues in following instructions and I do tend to have plenty of time not to mention that it is always nice getting to know people better and there is no better way than to share in an interest."
