    Henry comes up from the building, large dirty cloak flapping behind him, shotgun in hand. "The others are going", he announces loudly. "We cover them, then we go." He finally notices the collapsed figure. Damn. "Anyone else hurt?", he asks just as loudly, while pulling out his stained, cracked copper mirror. A small part of him wonders if the life of a Mage is worth the Abyss he might be pulling into himself, the creeping madness that had overtaken the others. If I do this, am I going to think this isn't real too? The risk is minimal... but the potential loss...

    He squints in the general direction of the others, only noting small threads of magic in the sky. But that wasn't really anything to worry about... was it?

    Orphan17, Spade 13 (Unconscious), Tug 12, Shadow 12, Errant 12, Henry 10

    Orphan is up. Abyssal!Tug is at roughly 40M. -6 Armor -3 Size -3 for rain + odd angle + disorienting background (sky with no visual 'markers' for depth perception) so -12 total penalties not including Range.

    Orphan moves over to the fire escape to see if any of the enemies have started to make his way up there. At the same time he appears to be focused on that, he uses his Omnivision to warn him should Tug take the opportunity to dive-bomb.

    Orphan will delay his instant action, ready to act if Tug dive-bombs or if they face imminent threat from enemies coming up the fire escape.

    The Mages again see the same sickly greenish-grey glow of a spell infuse the raptor's pattern.

    Over the edge of the roof, Orphan can see figures making their way up the ladder; they're about halfway up.

    Orphan leans over the roof enough to take a shot at the lead of the climbing figures. While targeting that creature, he uses his Omnivision to get a wider look at the situation on the ground, or as much as he can see of it from where he's at.

    I don't suppose he gets any bonus for being above them and it being such a straight shot down, not giving them much option for maneuvering? If so, let me know and I'll add any such modifier.

    I think any bonus would be mitigated by penalties assessed for a reduced Target area (head and shoulders), following the normal penalties, or Size modifiers


    The shot tears through an arm, and Orphan can hear a howl of pain over the rain. Although it pauses... it soon resumes climbing.

    All three use their Action to re-order to the top of teh Initiative roster for the next Turn and then Hold.

    Orphan is UP.

    By Orphan's estimate, the ladder climbers will be on the roof next Turn.

    "I need help here, or we're overrun," Orphan says. Calling on the rest of his Exceptional Luck, he fires straight down at the head of the creature nearest the top of the ladder, hoping that if it falls, it might slide down and either knock down down or delay some of the others.

    Unfortunately for him and his companions, Fate doesn not smile upon Orphan on this occasion.

    This is why Orphan sticks to swords...


    After firing, Orphan falls back a few steps to make room for the others and quick-holsters his pistol, preparing to draw his wakizashi and wade into close combat.

    A good chunk of the climber's head is missing now, and it flails slowly to begin climbing again. (+1 Turn to arrival)

    At the same time:

    Faster than the eye can see, the raptor dives...

    ...straight at Orphan, as he is stepping back.

    Moments before the dark bird strikes, it flares it's wings and shifts back into the large Thyrsus. The 200lb + ex NFL player barrels into the smaller Acanthus, sinking claws in deep and ripping him open.

    Orphan takes 5L and needs to roll STR + Athletics -5 to Resist Knockdown.

    Henry sees the diving raptor hit Orphan, and that settles it. I'm probably going to hate this... but here goes.

    He looks at the reflection of Orphan's wounds in hir mirror, then turns the mirror to look at the prone Spade. With a flick of the wrist, he looks at his own undamaged flesh, aiming to make their flesh as his. Along with the motion, he starts moving slowly towards the stairs to make his way back downstairs.

    Seeing the magic take hold, he shouts to the others, "Back inside, now! Make'em fight in close quarters!" He didn't mention the fact that they were starting to fight a battle on multiple fronts as well, which was never a good thing.

    Through sheer determination, Orphan does not fall, despite Tug's savage attack. He smiles as he feels Henry's magic mend the worst of the injuries Tug had inflicted.
