Ankh looks down at the girl and nods. "I know, it's been a really crappy time. But we're still alive and maybe today will be the day, you know? Keep your head high. At least we know the truth of the world. That's more then we can say for the poor souls out there."

She gives a wave to Orphan, grateful that so many Arrows were still around. All of this still felt wrong, but this was the reality they were in and this was the rality they needed to deal with.

"Eat, you'll need the strength." She says as she turns away to find West. If they were coming this way, then the mages were going to need another safe place to go.

Tam focuses on her feelings, the fear that something is wrong, the frustration of memories that aren't there, and the confusion of knowing something is wrong with reality.

Tam is not going to contest the roll. At this point, she doesn't care what people know about her, and she wants to share the feeling that there should be another reality in place of the one they are experiencing. I figure, with 1 success shy of exceptional, Tam doesn't have the memories of the other reality, but the feeling that things should be different is pretty strong.

My questions for West are, will Telepathy pick up on the emotional aspects? And, will Beverely get a sense of where the feelings are coming from? Such as, "Wow, this chick believes what she is feeling, but she is nuts" or "Hmm, this isn't simple delusion. The feelings are coming from something deeper."

Shadow stirs slowly, uncurling from the tight ball she often becomes during the night. The past few months have not treated the Thyrsus well; the only thing keeping her going most days is the knowledge that her familiar had been able to escape the city before everything went to hell. She wore the same jeans and t-shirt that she had when she first came into the city, both now torn in places and blood-stained.

The mages present would note that occasionally she became rather feral, acting more like a cornered fox than a woman in the same predicament. Signs of her missing familiar having rubbing off on her? Perhaps.

Shadow's eyes dart about warily as she rises, her back popping loudly as she stretches. The air ripples around her as she strengthens her body, readying it for the day's trials. She looks to West at the mention of incoming attackers, then nods. "Won't lose this den too...can't let them take it."

Bev's Telepathy Spell

She'll be able to tell what Tam is thinking -- and that she's not lying -- and that she feels strongly about it, but that's all. The most likely assumption for a psychologist like Bev is that Tam has had a mental break from reality, I would think.

Animus stirs and sits up, West's words hitting him like a hammer. Tyria, gone. He stares at his ring, the only reminder of yet one more comrade, one of the best, who had now fallen to the abominations claiming the city. As if losing Armstrong hadn't been bad enough.

Pulling himself together, he calls down his watchtower to shield him for one more day of this desperate struggle.

The Curator had snuck through the city, trusting her Wraith's aura to hide her long enough to Postcog the Tower, to dissect the ritual. Her Attainment was the only feasible way to do it, without the risk of massive Paradox.

But what had she learned?

West shakes his head at Ash, gesturing towards the others, the women in particular. "Let's go, then; Joshua, Ash, you're with me. Maybe we got lucky and she left a ghost."

Since when was someone dying and leaving a ghost 'lucky'?

"Orphan, Falx, you stay and get ready to either hold this, or abandon ship," West continued. He looked at Animus as he finished, an implied question.

After all, Animus is the ranking Thearch, if not Hierarch.

Jammer stirs himself. His once wild, beautiful dreadlocks are gone, the odor becoming intolerable after several weeks. He stares off in the distance, and then looks at Beverely. Wordlessly, he offers the pretty Thearch his food rations.

Animus nods, answering the question in kind. "Just be careful. We can't afford more losses."

[Kelreth]

"Hey" Falx's voice is energetic. "If you guys see Tug...." his voice fades slowly "let me know?" He looks at West, Ash and Joshua then turns and wipes away tears using his shirt sleeve. Falx looks over the only presumed survivors of the Pentacles in the city and checks his weapon again.

[Darren Nash]

Ash nods to West's request and moves away to distribute his remaining crackers among the women of the survivors trying his best to keep a smile on his scarred face, a constant reminder of his Awakening.

Once done, Ash heads back to West, carefully wrapping his hands in the boxing wraps he had been wearing when he was found by the Arrows several months before. They were still tinged red.
