"Hey, there. Earth to Coco. I was starting to worry you were dead."
"I might as well be," came the Wasp's acerbic reply. "You might as well think I am, Nathan. I'm going to be leaving town. Putting Sacramento behind me. I think I'm going to go somewhere with bigger buildings. Or with more sand."
He was taken aback by her response. Looks like a lot's changed since we last saw each other. "That's too bad," he didn't even have to pretend to be upset. "I was hoping you could help me out with something. Sand and buildings are overrated anyway. Take it from me. But if you'd rather I stopped bothering you..."
"I'm already packed," Coco replied with a sigh. "But tell me anyway. Maybe I can tell you who can help once I'm gone."
"Yeah, as I said, too bad. Don't think there's much you can do then. But if you want to know anyway, I've got a brand new job and big shoes to fill. I had heard you had a knack for close combat, the sort that doesn't involve playing catch, if you know what I mean. Thought you might be willing to share. But like I said, there's no much point to it, if you're leaving."
"I suppose there's not. Perhaps try speaking with those who possess a bit more iron, if you catch my drift," Coco replied.
"Take care, Nathan," she added, then. "I do believe that we could have been friends, but perhaps you're better off this way."
And with that she hung up.
