The brick and stone structure sat on the street corner, having recently undergone a drastic restoration after the roof had caved in from wear, tear, and neglect. Truce had meticulously aired out the second floor and vacuumed the carpets so that their guests and his roommates weren't inhaling lingering dust from the construction project.
The open air roof space itself is adorned with paper lanterns and strung lights along the three foot brick encircling railing. Plastic chairs are strategically placed beside fold out tables with a longer wooden table and bench take up one corner. A few potted plants fill the other corners to bring some color, though its not quite the garden that Flidais once had.
A grill was purchased along with the foodstuff they would be cooking on it and moved to the roof. Ground beef, chicken breasts and wings, hot dogs, bratwurst, as well as onions, mushrooms, peppers, tofu, buns and all the trimmings. After all, the food they prepare is the excuse for Veiled Threats to make their appearance. And Star always seems quite fond of food, especially if it's free.
There's drinks as well. Several wine bottles, an ice-filled cooler of beer, waters, and sodas. No hard liquor, unless someone planned to bring some themselves.
Most of this still sat in the kitchen where Truce is at work in his preparations. He called out over his shoulder as he finished washing much of the vegetables. "Crowley, could you carry these up to the roof? I want to watch the door as guests arrive. And Faye, do you think you could oversee the barbecue tonight? I'm afraid I'll end up burning the roof down again if I do it." He wants to make a good impression and maintain himself as a good host. While this may appear to be a casual evening with friends, there's also the desire goal to develop a good relationship with Veiled Threats' members.
As they arrive, Truce will greet them at the door to invite them inside. They'll find the foyer leads to the living room and kitchen, though he will direct them to the stair to ascend to the roof.
While he trusts they will behave themselves, Truce had earlier informed their Guardian Ghost of the guests and to ensure they don't go snooping around in places they shouldn't be, such as his room where the Deathless Manuscript rests within his Occult Library. He keeps his perception open to Twilight to receive such messages.
