A letter is left for each member of Cross’s family who is actively involved in the maintenance and expansion of the Necropolis and the Deep Kingdom more generally. The paper is crisp and clean, though of low quality stock, folded precisely and sealed in an envelope inscribed with the initials of its addressee. Its message is written by hand in a small, neat script. The ink is red.
Alice will find hers tucked out of the way in Caldarium. Jack’s is affixed to the door of his Sepulcher with tape. Greenberg discovers his in the burgeoning Bleak Annals. And Garrick’s is placed to catch his eye on the outskirts of the Garbage Pit.
Obviously, I’ve decided to place the text of each letter in one post rather than make four separate posts. Find each in the appropriately marked spoiler below.
Alice
AH,
I hope you are well. I’m writing in regards to the upcoming event to be held in the Necropolis, specifically in terms of security. As the Caretaker of our Family Plot, I am aware that you will be quite busy the night of the gathering and so I have tried to keep my requests of you to a minimum. Still, I hope you will agree to one, minor duty: in the unlikely event of some form of violence or emergency, I would like you to take point on leading our guests to safety. This obviously means escorting them into the catacombs, deeper underground, and back to the surface using the secondary exit. Of course, if an assault should emerge from that direction, you would then shuttle everyone up and out of the main entrance. Again, this is all very unlikely, but I think it best to be prepared for any eventuality. Please confirm that you are comfortable with these duties by texting me a simple “Yes” or “No” before the night of the event. Finally, please destroy this note after reading it. Thank you for everything that you do.
Yours,
RC
Jack
JC,
There’s no need to tell you that we will be holding a special event in the Family Plot in the coming nights. After all, you’re the one that first heard the news. I’m writing you now to discuss security concerns. As the Regent’s Hound, you are permitted to carry arms the night of the event, and I’d like you to do just that. Discreetly, of course—I would not want to worry our guests. This should not be hard given our family’s penchant for hiding things. Further, I would like you to focus your attention on KG himself as well as other high value individuals, specifically the Prince. Again, discreetly. There’s no need to make a show of your role. I will attend to overall security, your task will be to act as an added layer of protection around those of distinct importance if any threat should arise. It’s unlikely, but best prepared for. Please let me know that you are comfortable with this role during the event by texting me a simple “Yes” or “No” before the gathering. And feel free to propose any further measures you may think necessary. Finally, please destroy this note after reading.
Best,
RC
Joseph
JG,
As you have no doubt already heard, our Family will be hosting a very important event in the coming nights. This letter concerns that event, specifically security. I’m hoping you will be comfortable assisting on this front, in the special capacity for which you are best suited. In short: I would like you to be my ear to the ground, socially, during the gathering. A sort of emotional barometer for the room and the many interactions that will no doubt take place. If tempers flare, or if a specific individual seems to be behaving strangely, I may not be in a position to directly observe that turn of events, which is why I am asking your assistance in this regard. You are a capable social operator, Mr. Greenberg, and I hope you are willing to lend your skills to assure the safety and security of the Domain as it gathers in our home. Please let me know if you are willing to perform this role by texting me a simple “Yes” or “No” before the event takes place. Finally, be sure to destroy this letter after reading.
Best,
RC
Garrick
GM,
I am writing you concerning the important event that will be held on the Family Plot in the coming nights, specifically in terms of security. This letter is a notification that you have been deputized for the duration of said event and may come armed. I am taking this action in order to ensure the safety of our very important guests. I would like you to attend with your side arm, keeping things as discreet as possible (which should not be hard given our Family’s ability to hide things). I do not anticipate trouble, but should it arise, you will assist me in the defense of our guests from whatever threats appear, internally or externally. Of course, this is all contingent on whether or not you choose to accept the deputization I am offering and, thereby, the role assigned to you. Please let me know by texting me a simple “Yes” or “No” before the night of the event. I thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. Finally, please destroy this letter after reading.
Best,
RC
Last, but not least, a file containing copies of all the letters is left for Regent Gilroy just inside the entrance to the dark Dark Temple, complete with a personalized note affixed.
Regent Gilroy
My Priscus and Regent,
Enclosed are copies of my correspondence with our Family concerning security for the upcoming Important Event to be held in the Underground. All letters were delivered within the Necropolis itself and will be duly destroyed after they have been read. Please let me know if you would like to change any aspect of the security measures in place thus far, or if you should need any other assistance from me before, during, or after the event.
Best,
RC
To avoid confusion, and to simplify things, I think it would be best if the “Yes” or “No” responses be posted as a reply here. Of course, if further discussion is needed by your character, have them contact Cross accordingly!
Reading through the letter, Joseph found himself smiling to himself. As he tore the paper into smaller and smaller pieces before letting it turn to mush in a cup of dirty water he pulled out his phone and sent Cross a simple text saying only, "Yes."
I tear the paper into teeny tiny pieces and leave the remains to gather dust upon my work bench in my sepulcher locked away securely. I pull out my phone, and after a frown and a walk up to the surface haven send a text back.
Yes. Further suggestion; Who's the doorman? Houses...design...might make it difficult to spot off the bat, and it's good to have someone look everyone over as they enter. We don't have the security like the night clubs bouncers for that kind of thing.

Past her Albinism, Alice is naught but a doll, beautiful in her impossible perfection. Taking on a inescapable sheen of artifice, both movements and manner seem, hollow and fake. She's nothing but a marionette, limbs jerking and twisting as if pulled by invisible strings.
Marring her unnatural beauty are her eyes, or the lack of them, vacant pits of visceral horror.

After finding and reading the note, Alice tore it up into teeny tiny pieces, before letting them fall into one of the flames that was her duty to keep alight in the Caldarium. She watches the itty bitty pieces turn into ash before reaching for her phone, she quickly types out her positive response to Robert's request.

The speed and content of their responses is pleasing to Cross. It's moments like these that he's proud of his particular Family, despite their well-deserved reputation. The only one left to reply is Garrick, but the white-eyed haunt still has plenty of time.
Quickly, he taps out a response to Jack:
Understand the concern about difficulty finding the location. Still, it's between security and convenience. I'm inclined to choose the former. If you have concerns or another idea on that front, I'd run it by KG. As for their belongings, I'll be collecting those as they make their way down. Good looking out.
Do you want the Big Boss running around looking for the party in our neighborhood? Otherwise we will need a door man. Sorry to bother you, Cross sent me over you're way when I brought up the need.
Holstered gun on his right hip
Sheathed knife on his left hip

Nosferatu Curse: The irises of Garrick's eyes are milky white, they never seem to focus on what he is paying attention too. Consequently it is hard to tell if he's looking at you or around you or past you.
It's not the Prince's reaction that worries Garrick, the man owns the town, but the Reeves. She's a bit straight forward. Still, job to do.
Yes
The letter is read again before being dumped into a bucket of water. Garrick pokes at it with a pen through the night slowly turning the piece of nice paper into mush.
