Police are investigating the home of Dr. James Edgemont tonight after he was found fatally shot Saturday morning in his home.

Edgemont, sat on the Board of Governors at the University and was a well-liked and popular professor of Political Science. He was 52. The spokesman of the University and local civil litigator Peter Dick, says the the University is in mourning and will be closed the next three days in observance of Edgemont's service to the University and his students.

The University is setting up a memorial fund in his honor for scholarship purchases for students in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Residents near to Edgemont's home said that they had not heard about the incident and didn't hear gunshots Saturday morning.
