Calling the Steward

[Coco]

What sort of ringtone would a musician have? One of their own making? A sample of one of their songs so they could display it in public? Or, perhaps, it was some parody of sound. Iphone ring, opus 3, on violin...

Except, no, Lynn wouldn't have an Iphone. She was much too poor for one, after all. Yet one more reason why she'd probably recorded her own ringtone.

As for Coco, well, all she had for the moment was the pulsating digital symphony of two phone lines connected as she waited for Lynn Mills to answer...

[Lynn Mills]

Lynn glanced at the caller ID and winced a bit. While there was a chance that a conversation with Coco wouldn't got poorly, her track record of dealing with the Wasp wasn't the greatest. Still, there was the chance that this was a Freehold matter. With a deep breath, Lynn hit the answer button.

"Hello, Ms. Tascioni?" Her tone was carefully somewhere between polite and professional.

[Coco]

"Hello Madame Mills," the Wasp brightly replied into her own cheap pre-paid cell phone. "I was wondering if you would be willing to sit down for a little chat sometime. To clear up the issues between us, of course. Because, let's be honest, they're quite a bit more pressing than the little kerfuffle that Morgan and I had. And, since that's been resolved, I see no reason why we can't also resolve what lies between us."

[Lynn Mills]

Lynn actually pulled the phone away from her ear and stared at it for a moment, blinking in confusion. Where the hell did that come from?

Taking a breath, she put the phone back to her ear and reaching up to rub at her temple. "That would probably be a good idea. Tea at the Rose Garden?"

[Coco]

"Well, if you can't handle anything stronger I suppose tea will have to do," Coco replied gailyinto the phone. "Would you mind terribly making the reservation? No? Excellent. Thank you, dear Steward. Simply let me know the time and I shall arrive."

[Lynn Mills]

Well, whatever had brought about this request, it wasn't a result of a personality change. Lynn bit back a sigh and instead rubbed a bit at the bridge of her nose.

"Certainly. I'll let you know as soon as I've got it set."

[Coco]

"Marvelous! Then I'll be waiting!"

And the line was cut. Oh, what a joyous time the Steward would be in for!

The Wasp couldn't help but laugh, imagining Lynn's discomfort. And well she should laugh, Coco was sure, for that phone call was the last bit of revenge she'd be allowed to take upon the violinist. Once they both arrived at the Rose Garden she would have to set aside everything else for the sake of the truce she wanted to form. That little bit of teasing would have to satisfy her from here on out.
