Peter needs to make a Perception Check at -4, as does Headstrong. Gideon, Ishani and Asa make the same check at -2.

As with a sixth sense, Peter senses something approaching before it comes. Turning quickly to glance down the turn off as he walks forward, he sees two of the reptilian ghouls suddenly appear, their skin thick and scaly, their talons long and black, rushing toward him.
Peter can take an action before they get to him. Ishani and Gideon, who have been witholding, can take an action simultaneously with the ghouls.
Can Peter time his action and use it as they get to him, and still have it be "before" they get to go? Lacking a ranged combat option and not being willing to hop the incendiary device, superior timing of a brawling attack seems to be the best option. If so, assuming the standard numbers for scaleys still stand...

The two scaley ghouls rush out toward Peter. He is ready to meet them head on, and he slashes out first, though to little effect. One of the ghouls slashes with its claws, but misses, and in the same instant, the other slams into Peter, its shoulder lowered. Its blow doesn't injure Peter, but it does threaten to force him back into the booby-trapped area of the floor.
[nar]Roll Str + Athletics for Peter to hold his ground. On a failure, he is pushed backward.
