But the sword didn't just get in the way. She placed it there with unerring force and precision.

The Wasp's bravado may hide it, but her world shakes. Not just for slaying Sophie, or whatever creature was waring her skin, but because of what Sophie represented: that the world was bigger and stranger now; that there were other things out there beyond what she knew, beyond Faerie. And that she slew it.

Who knew if the dead thing was only the tip of an iceberg? Did she really know this mop headed man, leaning against the wall? He had seen her kill...

Quiver of paranoia, shaking the bastion of her self assurance.

Coco has inadvertently crossed the threshold of Clarity, as per break point for Clarity 4 (page 92 Changling Core)

Star, for his part, stares at the body of Sophie. It is cooling, going dark, fading from his Sight. Whatever entity had possessed the woman appears to have... died with her. There is no spiritual form floating hurled back across the Wall Between Worlds. There is no effusion of shattered Essence pouring across either.

Whatever it was, is now lost.

[Coco]

"The Exorcist, yes, I've seen that film more than once," Coco murmured, her gaze following Jack's eyes to the corpse at her feet.

Slow drips of filth trailed down her face, and she could almost feel the weight of the dragon's unnatural blood on which traced down the bright steel blade in her right hand. It was that sight, of viscous, queerly greenish liquid beading and dripping from point of her sword that helped calm the rising tide of terror beneath the Claviger as she considered what she had done.

Once more, she had taken her skill, taken her art, and used it to destroy life. Once more she'd rent fragile flesh asunder, but unlike the wretched night guard, bludgeoned to death in cold blood, this kill had been done to protect the city from a malevolence that had only just begun to rear its head. It didn't matter that she'd lured the threat to an abandoned location and skewered it like some honor less thug, some hitwoman, it was still a monster slain. A dragon brought low, even if it was not the one whispered of with fear in the Freehold.

And, as Jack had pointed out, there was another Dragon from the same clutch which was still out there...

"If I dispose of the corpse, will you be able to locate this possessed book seller, Jedediah?" Coco asked, looking back to Jack. "We'll have to plan more carefully to kill that dragon. It's had more time to build a nest."

"Uh, I can try."

As if. No one's a walking phonebook. Then again? No one's a walking mortician, either. A knee popped and a rustle of air shuddered out in pain as damaged vertebrae bend over. Fingers scissored, then latched onto Sophie's purse.

What? No need to complicate things, right? Who knew what was in there? Contact information. A phone. Jebediah's card.

Maybe money.

"This is a nice purse."

Every murder needs a little humor.

Star is gonna dig thru that purse for any clues, Yumyumcrow !

"Not...nng...my style," Coco grunted, the Claviger having already cleaned her blade, sheathed it, and then set about trying to drag the corpse towards the kitchen doorway.

"Broken bones," she swore, "what did that hospital feed her?"

The dragging happened pitifully slowly and eventually evolved into Coco trying to roll the body towards the doorway.

Sophie's purse is pretty ordinary. There is about $200 in notes, a small pile of cards (credit, medical, club memberships including the Society of Penelope) and a number of business cards - lawyers mostly - but also from influential members of the Society. There is one for Jebediah's Rare Books with a phone number in crabbed script on the back. There was also a selection of keys and other knick knacks. Someone had been fond of a dark cherry coloured lipstick and none too fond of their Iphone (with its cracked screen).

The purse itself turns out to be genuine and very expensive (if an older style).

Thudding and scraping, Coco manhandles the remains of Sophie along; here and there the body leaves a trail of green. So far, so good.

Their antics have aroused no suspicion from the neighbours.

[Coco]

"Well. I should be able to handle it from here. No reason for you to have to see this," Coco informed Star bluffly. "Just make sure not to open the door to widely when you exit and I'll contact you tomorrow, yes?"

[Star]

Score.

Oh, right, there's a business card. What money? Guess who's going to the meat market. Later. Surprises, surprise, the Bad Woman was an iPeon, too. That's almost as bad as being Possessed, yo.

"Uh, sure, okay."

That's right. Delicate Sensibilities. Also, don't ask. That's the first rule when Someone Else is Disposing Of A Body. Everyone has their favorite methods. Wood chippers were the best, if you could find one. Just make sure to stand clear. Especially if there were Multiple.

"I'll, yeah, wait to, you know." A thumb and pinkie hooked upward next to an ear.

As soon as Jack finally left, Coco finished positioning the dragon's corpse near the kitchen doorway and then, after taking a moment or two to collect herself, she rapped her knuckles upon the wooden frame, muttered "admittance for one", then infused the portal with a measure of Faerie, transforming it into a gateway into the Hedge itself. Then, immediately, she set herself to the task of shoving the corpse through the opening.

It had been much easier the last time she'd done this. At least there had been another set of hands to help manage the corpse's limbs.
