"Perhaps in the meantime you could borrow my coat so that we might cover the camera and begin to foil the lock?" Josephine asked, slipping the lockpicks, notepad, phone, and pen out of her jacked and then slipping it off.

"And never say that you'd be caught dead before seeing a Lord strip for the common good," she added, handing the coat over. "It seems that we're the only ones willing to." Once more, her eyes fell upon Ducard. At least the rest of her clan wasn't as useless as her.

Hildegarde listened and then, eyes flashing at Sergei, she moved off on the hunt. She moved quickly, forgoing stealth for speed as she looked for the type of object the Haunt had described. Sergei's plan, by far, sounded the least desperate and so she played her part.

"How long would it take for the authorities to arrive?" the Lord asked while she rummaged through the dim alley.

The squat, steel box isn't terribly hard to find. Although it doesn't look overly inviting to intrusion, at least it's outside of the immediate camera's field of view.

[Kenneth Gilroy]

Kenneth took note of the camera and had started trying to think of ways to bypass it when he got distracted by the interplay between Josephine and Angel. Sterling’s glance at Durcard when she mentioned getting something from the dumpster seemed a tangential insult. His Priscus didn’t acknowledge his covenant leader’s comment in the least. And then when the Ventrue gave up her coat. Was there some history there? He really hoped there wasn’t. It made his position in life a lot more complicated if he was stuck between two Kindred leaders with a grudge against each other.

He couldn’t worry about that right now, so he turned his attention to other matters. He considered what tools he had available to him. He could probably get something opaque to cover the camera but honestly the jacket would probably be the better option to anything he could provide. He considered offering to mix together something for an endothermic reaction to freeze the locks and make them easier to break but given the sheer number of Kindred and powers available he doubted that would be needed. It would take time as well for any reaction to fully achieve a practical effect anyway. He didn’t even consider offering acids. ‘Quickly’ dissolving metal would take hours if not days. Time seemed of the essence here from what people were saying though. The only other option was a more violent reaction. His kit wasn't properly stocked for that though. He'd be pressed to come up with something to blow a hinge, much less a door.The tendency for bright flashes to bring attention and cause Kindred to run in fear didn't help either.

Gilroy waited for instruction while still trying to figure out how to be helpful. While he had as David put it 'a solid working knowledge of the art of entering places uninvited' that had mostly been an outgrowth of training his skill in Obfuscation. And (lucky him) that power of the Blood didn't work on cameras.

As David works his magic on the box, Rina watches silently. His hands are better at breaking into things than hers, apparently. Not too surprising. As much as Rina sells herself as what she appears to be, she is simply a brute, an executioner. People thought Rina was quick with her hands and her mind, able to find people, sneak in close, and end them quickly. The truth is, Rina Kills People. Nothing more. She follows her Priscus as he moves closer to the door, gliding across the ground to try the knob.

"Very well," Josephine muttered, allowing the willowy demon to relieve her of the lock picks, though she did follow after him, to assist with the junction box, if she could. She was glad she had done so, for it seemed that Regan was no more skilled than she was when it came to foiling the locks, and thus it was no great loss no matter which one of them put the tools to use.

Once the box was cracked open, Josephine bent down and peered inside, her Blood lending her senses a reach beyond what her earthly vessel had once been intended to have. Hopefully it would help her find a clue, find something to help them make up for what they didn't already know.

With David's deft hands and Josephine and Kenneth's assistance, the box yields up it's digital secrets. Plastic blocks and thick cables that fan out into colored wires look like nothing so much as legos with pig-tails. There's a method to the madness, aided by notes left by telco workers -- notes and marks scribed in Sharpie on the blocks.

It's a long process. More than once, cars pass by. It's a reminder of where they are, but they are careful and the night is dark.
