(1412) Konrad & Ale

[Konrad Roth]

Konrad turns his head with Edwin to the heightened sound of the sharp-looking woman calling for the Reeve. Her voice doesn't convey panic, but rather urgency perhaps. Nonetheless, Konrad stiffens for a moment with the memory of the bloodhunt some months ago and wonders if there might be a repeat showing.

Hoping to cover his discomfort, Konrad attempts to make light of the incident among his present company. "Sounds like they're not wasting any time putting the Reeve to work," he says with an attempt at good-humor.

[Orianna]

She smirks at Konrads comment about Edwin.

The banter between the two was quite entertaining. “So are you saying you’re not charming?” she fired back playfully. She then shrugs, “I don’t know, Konrad here seems pretty cool to me thus far, how cool you are remains to be seen.” She could banter too, and hoped they could catch on to her joking tone.

“Liking it so far. Haven’t really gotten out and explored much, but I hope to change that. So any places that you guys can recommend would be great.”

The loud voice caused her to look around. Calling for The Reeve?! She looks around for any danger, ready to step in if needed. “Seems like this Court might be interesting.” She says with wink.

"I'm sure he can handle it," Edwin added to Konrad's comment, looking back as Ale made her jibe, drawing a grin from the Lord.

"Reverence is a good place to hang," Edwin offered, looking to Konrad, whom he had met there for the first time. "It's goth though, heavily so."

"I gotta ask, Ale, where did you get those tats?" The question would then allow Edwin to bring the conversation back onto his number one subject; namely, him.

"I appreciate that," says Konrad in thanks to Ale for her compliment. "Though I've usually got a talent for hiding my good points." he adds in jest.

"I can't say I'd recommend most of the dive bars I hang out at, they're a dime a dozen. The city's got small time casinos if you like gambling, there's the Old District if you like history or culture, and the rest is a mix of slums and suburbia. Then again I've only been here a few months so I'm sure there's places even I'm missing out on."

As the subject matter changes, Konrad uses the opportunity to glance over at Wooding and how he's handling the Priscus of Lords and her uncooperative playmate. Unfortunately all he gets to see is their forms disappearing into the Reeve's office. His curiosity would have to wait.

In his searching, Konrad notices the Prince. Whoa, is that Richie? What's he talking with Clarke about? Konrad would definitely have to ask Richard about that conversation later. It probably shouldn't be too much of a surprise since Richard had shown an interest with meeting the Prince since his initial arrival.

Konrad turns back to Edwin and Ale again, "I'll leave you two to talk shop for a bit. I'm just going to...err, mingle." He smirks and leaves a light but supportive pat on Edwin's shoulder, conveying the subtle message: Enjoy.

Konrad heads over to the main thread

“Reverence you say? Can’t say I’ve ever been into the goth scene. But I’d be willing to check it out.” Who knew, it could be fun.

“All my work was done back home, over many years. But I’m certainly not done yet.” She says with a laugh.

As Konrad excuses himself, she smiles, “Have a good night, was fun talking with you.”

"Catch you later, buddy," Edwin waved off Konrad, watching as the man went about his business, business the Lord may one day come to have a better understanding of. He re-focused on Alessandra.

"Cool. Tell me, have you ever experienced being inked since joining the Second Descent?"

Two birds, one stone. Edwin threw the term out there, wondering if Ale would bite.

She turns her head slightly to the side, not familiar with the term. “Second Descent?” she asks, curious. “And I haven’t actually gotten any new ink in a few years.”

A small smile as Ale asked the question.

"My apologies for any confusion, Ale. The Second Descent is the state of our being now, since being Embraced," Edwin explained, very, very simply. "It is the foundation of my own belief in the Circle of the Crone."

When she mentioned not having any new ink for a few years, it told the Lord a couple of interesting things. That is if she wasn't lying to him.

"It's quite an experience, actually. It gives you an entire night to determine if you are truly content with the design. If not, then come the following sunset, it has gone. Naturally, if that is the case, I wouldn't recommend going back to that same tattooist," he grinned. "Talk about awkward. Unless of course said artist is already Kindred. Then, no problems."

Her Sire had explained the basics to her and talked with her in depth about her Family. She had never heard him refer to anything as a second descent. But as Edwin explained his belief tied into the Crone, it all seemed to make since.

“It is interesting to hear different views on our state of being.” She replies simply.

Her Sire had also explained to her how her tattoos would work, so knowing fresh ink would disappear wasn’t news to her. And she also knew she would have to put her Will into any more works she gets.

But she is polite and smiles, “Oh I wouldn’t worry about that. Time traveling around has given me plenty of time to figure out my tattoos and what else I will be getting. But you just raised a point I wanted to talk to you about.” Speaking of Kindred being artists.

“I met a guy the last Court, Richie, and he recommended you. Said you’re a tattoo artist that might be able to provide me with more ink.”

"Yeah, sure thing," Edwin replied, hand delving into a pocket of his baggy pants before pulling out a black card with crimson font splashed on the front. DRAWING BLOOD.

"Here, it's got my contact details on it," he smiled. "I'm currently mobile but once I get tenancy, the first thing I'll be doing is setting up a studio. "You ever want to discuss designs, Ale, just give me a call."
