Asa watched Ishani replace Arnold, but was fairly certain Jayant wouldn't let the line falter with her there. He could feel the tide turning, and looked for an opening in the strange new shadows to strike out again, but found the murky darkness difficult to make out the worm-things within. Even as he lashed out, he cursed himself for not having augmented his senses previously.

stubborn persistence
This time, perhaps because it is masked in darkness, the creature is able to resist Asa's use of nightmare.

Konstantin steps up to help Arnold. "I will do my best to remove these foul things, my friend," he says. Using his knife and his long nails, Konstantin goes first for the worms that have already burrowed into Arnold's dead flesh, then is able to pull the others off him pretty easily.
Dr. Konstantin?
Though painfully, Konstantin is able to remove all the worms.
Arnold suffers 3 Lethal and 1 Bashing damage.

Ishani looks over at Asa, before she prepares to start battle with these infernal things again. She wonders what his plan is and if she will have to kick his ass to get him to wake up before her. Probably.
Sighing with resignation, Ishani prepares to start hitting squishy, squirmy, wriggling, infernal worms.

Arnold moves to the back of the line. He braces himself against Konstantin's none-too-gentle first-aid, gritting his teeth, and grunting in pain a few times. When it's over, however, he composes himself - placing a hand on Konstantin's shoulder and nodding at him respectfully. "Thank you, my friend."
He turns his attention back to the fight, pushing some more blood into his wounds to close some of the more severe of them. This is what he had been saving it for - patching himself after receiving wounds in battle.
Now that he's no longer in danger from wriggling worms, Arnold steps up to take a place beside the Satyr, who had been having luck using Nightmare. Where the man had learned the Haunts' discipline Arnold did not know, but if it was working for him...
Arnold has no trouble at all revealing the horrifying nature of his beast. During the use of his discipline his face twists to reveal the Cursed, disfigured Arnold everyone knows - though his body remains the same.

If it aint broke, don't fix it. Sean's been actually contributing to this fight with his use of Nightmare, and he isn't about to switch it up now.
He puts on his scary face one more time.

Arnold's use of Nightmare blasts one of the creatures into separate worms, while Sean's use of the discipline once more sends one of the creatures fleeing.

Headstrong thrusts at the most wounded of the creatures, catching it low in the midsection then forcing the spear upward and through its crawling mass, splitting it nearly in half and tossing worms all over the place. It falls into a discorporated mass of wriggling worms.
take that!
Dirge is up. There is one creature left.

With her patients gone Dirge did not have much she could do to assist the others from the rear. Everyone had the worms removed or was busy fighting on the line and was between her and the remaining foe.
"All right only one left, don't be a hero if your barely standing let the reinforcements handle it. Zap it if you can."
She continued to look for an opening to get to the front and help out, but that wasn't
