Arnold hears Ishani's voice ring out clear, instructing the Kindred to wake up. All around him people were being attacked by worm beasts, while others seemed to fade away from the dangerous dream. Then Arnold is scourged by one of the things, and the red worms are on his gnarled skin - burrowing into his flesh.
No More Worms
He growls and brushes them off vigorously before they have the opportunity to do more damage. Meanwhile, he stands his ground to defend the others as they find their ways back to the waking world.

Konstantin simply growls as the worms burrow. He yells to the others, "Protect the Prince and Lady Ishani!"
He thrusts his spear with all his might into the nearest of the creatures, hoping to rend it apart, but the blade merely passes through it with a sickening sound.
*rolls* ...well, crap.
...despite her best efforts, however, Karen finds herself dragged back into this nightmare. She lurches into view once more inside of the Avalon, the vines flailing about her wildly. "God DAMN that's annoying."

It was odd how one noticed things during stressful times, the things that stood out. Asa noticed Lazarus. He noticed those that acted as rear guard, and was even slightly surprised that Culler, the giant Nosferatu, could also quicken himself.
He didn't have a weapon, but perhaps he could bring order to the madness the worms' attack had brought. Hopefully the narrow doorway would limit the number of worm-things that could attack at once. Asa moved, pushing people where he wanted them, as he called out instructions.
"Hold the line at the door, alternate wounded!" he shouted to Pia, Konstantin, Culler, and Jayant. "Behind them!," he pointed to Lazarus and the satyr. "Headstrong and Jayant be ready at the stairs if they have to fall back," he pointed at the door. "The rest, move upstairs, get the worms off and crush them!"
Once they had 'dug in', then the non-combatants could being waking.

Lazarus watched as people started to vanish from the dreamscape. Inside him, his beast growled for self-preservation -- but his attacks seemed to be most efficient. Attempting to leave now would be an act made in self-preservation, but he would be leaving so many kindred behind.
A quick glance around to those who remained. Asa Clarke, Ishani Naetesh, Arnold Culler, Regina Pia, and Konstantin...all important people.
Dr. Lazarus chose to stay and fight. First he moved as directed by Prince Clarke.
Looking at another worm beast, the closest one to reaching the front line, he made an attempt to follow in the footsteps of the tattooed fellow and try the most basic form of Nightmare. The mask vanished in another trail of whispy smoke, the skinless face hissing at the worm-creature with an unhinged jaw -- fangs in clear display.

O-Yama slashes the closest worm being in his way to the doors of the Avalon. His blade, striking in another brutal overhead chop, tears into the worm thing, where before it had barely done damage, this time the blade tears into the worm monstrocity visciously, worms and ichor splattering as the blade tore deep. A loud, dark, and pained whispering sceam of pain is heard issuing from the congealed-blood blade as it strikes, and the runes marking O-Yama's body glow briefly. Seeing the hit do severe damage, he attempts to charge passed the worm creatures and make it to the doors of the Avalon, to fight alongside his liege and fellow warriors.

Headstrong nearly throws Joseph back, into Avalon, on her way to the stairs both to make room for the first line of defenders and get him out of there. Claws might get a worm or two but that was insufficient. That's why she'd told him to wake up. Aside from throwing him back she doesn't repeat the rumbled command instead opting to stand next to the stairs.
