"Hello, Sam," Diane greeted. "- ah, that's too bad."
Her tone was quiet and somewhat subdued. After a beat of silence, she comes back.
"I do have a seller who has the book for us in Temecula. He has a friend who has a book about werewolves that I thought Jodie might like. You think she'd be O.K. with me having it added to my buy tomorrow?"
Sam nodded before he realized that Diane couldn't see the gesture.
"Yeah, that sounds smart. Even if she isn't able to cover your expenses for it, I'd be happy to cover it. More knowledge is never a bad thing. I'll see you tomorrow, then?"
"That sounds perfect, Sam. Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow. I'll get there a bit before the exchange to scope the place out. Seemed pretty sleepy the last time that I was there."
