The best part about being a vampire?

No traffic.

What would take an hour in rush hour traffic takes August 15 minutes, with only the night life and police policing said night life to contend with. The 1am Chocolate Deliveries gets more than one curious look -- but August is careful. More importantly, he's sober.

Sober... but hungry.

He sure it's his imagination. The stench of Kine. Sweaty, dirty flesh covering the blood filled veins below like the skin of a grape. The sound of Kine. lub-dub. lub-dub. lub-dub. The pulse of life. Just a few feet away, tied up with a bow.

Near Jennifer's shop, he waits. He's followed Baldwin's instructions precisely. Not Baldwin. Definitely not Peter. Sir Baldwin. Knight of the Thorned Wreath. Paragon of the Unconquered. Current keeper of the Torpid Nosferatu Priscus.

He's that guy.

The one that's got his shit together.

August is exhausted. He arrived and parked just fine sure. But he is exhausted. His body is bruised. He tunes out the heartbeats as best he can and waits for Sir Baldwin to show. In the mean time...

The Icarian unbuckles his seat belt and climbs into the back of the van with the fellow in the straight jacket and looks at him/her curiously...and with a certain sort of hunger.

Taking a closer look, August turns the bound body.

It's not pretty.

A wispy clump of hair tears away, stuck to the rubberized floor of the van. Milky eyes twitch, sightless, attempting to focus. Rotting teeth laid bare by missing lips dodge withered tongue trying to moisten the edges of the maw. The putrid stench of foul breath nearly makes his eyes water. The sex of the person is indeterminate. Patches of black lesions freckle the neck and one side of the face, and angry swollen veins spidered with black striations turn the face into a jigsaw.

Another odor intrudes. Whatever this is, they've shit themselves.

The hunger fades, as if the Beast within recognizes unwholesome blood.

August Galloway stares at krokodil​.

It's...alive? he looked in disgust for only a moment before...

"Well..enough of that for now then. Yep." and flipping the rotting visage back over with unceremonious haste the Icarian decides to see if there was anything else worthwhile in the van while he waited on Sir Baldwins return. He would, if necessary, check any pockets of the corpse-rot fellow. He would also hold his breath, and try not to think about the whole thing ever again.

The pants are a simple cotton affair, without pockets. Socks cover the feet, and the toe areas form... irregular shapes.

Under the driver's seat, he finds a small plastic case containing a dull green sidearm. Below the patina, it's etched with the model number: M1911A. There's a half empty box off bullets in the case.

It's 1:55 a.m.

August Galloway is now armed and dangerous.

August makes sure the gun is properly loaded, finally something a bit more concealable that he wasn't going to have to grapple with some riff raff over. Kine payed pointed attention when you drew a gun. They focused when you drew a knife...the difference wouldn't be forgotten by the shabbily dressed icarian.

After that August does a cursory glance around, not seeing the familiar civic pull up he decides to send Sir Baldwin a text.

August let the Knight in the back of the Van after receiving the text. He sent a reply first, as courtesy dictated before hiding the gun securely, making sure the safety was in fact on, within his jacket along with the hunting knife.

At the knock, he opened the door, casually sweeping his gaze out into the night street and letting Baldwin in.

Then the beast hit. Kicked at the weakened cage. The Icarians will was spent. His body spent. His blood raged in hunger. He took a few moments to steady himself, a rare sight indeed proving the night had been long. After his Demon calmed itself, August processed what the Nosferatu had told him. Something has happened to Madame Hazelton.

August nodded, "I shall return to the drivers seat and maintain lookout till the other arrives." The Knight had failed to keep his Priscus safe...interesting... came the Demons voice from its cage like a growl in the back of Galloways mind.
