((Gideon-as-bait was just in the study; no one attacked so that gambit obviously failed. Stupid monsters, using their brains...))
Gideon lets himself be shuffled towards the rear of the line, knowing that here was little he could do to actually help in the event of an attack or ambush. All he could provide at his time was weak beams of light and the Sight. Between Joseph and Ephram, he feels.... protected, if not safe.

I'm assuming Peter or someone else toward the front is holding a flashlight. If that's not the case, let me know and I'll revise the description accordingly.
Also, are y'all having Jackson accompany, or leaving hiim behind/as a rear guard?
As the vampires move down the stairs, the sense of wrongness continues to retreat before them. Apparently the creatures do not intend to drop from the ceiling of the stairwell as they did last time.
They get downstairs without incident. As Headstrong looks into the first chamber, he sees the place in shambles. There is plentiful evidence of the previous fighting down here, including carcasses of more of the ghouls and a large, charred area on the carpeted floor of the first chamber. Otherwise, there are papers scattered around, a dented fire extinguisher on the floor, and furniture knocked about. Gideon can still hear something moving about well ahead of them; he's still unsure if the creature is not obfuscated or if his Auspex has penetrated any such effect that might be active.
Asa, Ishani, Ephram and anyone else using Auspex can roll to see if they hear this as well.

Ephram can also hear the receding sounds of footsteps, combined with the scratch of nails on concrete.

Ishani also detects these sounds of something retreating far ahead.
As the vampires cautiously move into the main chamber, they don't see or hear any sign of enemies, though sense of wrongness lingers faintly, as if its source is at a distance.
Ishani notices something that is somewhat disturbing once she realizes what it is. She notices an area of dry dust and ash, about two feet long, in the area that burnt last time she was in here, where Rayhna fell... part of her, detached from the rest - most likely an arm - crumbled into ash and dust as it was left behind when she was taken.
She also notices this reminder of her missing friend is marred in one spot by what appears to be a footprint.

Ishani moves over to th pile and bends down. She places her hand lightly on the ashes, closes her eyes and concentrates. She tries to bring forth the images of the last thing this person saw before Final Death took them.
