As the newly formed "Cabal" finds it's metaphorical legs, their physical ones carry them in search of a Hallow. On this particular afternoon they found themselves in the bustling streets of western Sacramento. It was here that the new mages began their search for a Hallow.
Feel free to narrate yourself in as you like and talk if you need to. When you are ready to start the search post a Wits+Comp roll please.

The weather was warm enough that a coat was too much -- even a utilitarian thin cotton one. At least, with long sleeves, too. A wrinkled, untucked oxford and khakis were paired with tennis shoes for walking around, and the backpack withredfruit punch gatorade ended up turning the ensemble into an entirely collegiate look. College was for kids. School of hard knocks. Classroom of the enlightened was in session.
For the first time, at least in the realm of practical concerns, he was glad of the company. Walking around staring, focused, on the esoteric while alone was just asking for a thugging. Having to tell Principal Ari he'd had his lunch money stolen? Hell no.
"OK, ok, this is a good area, right?" he asked, looking at the Veil and the Threats. "Give me a second..."
Riddle this: spells for looking at resonance, and spells for using ley energy, but where was the spell for, say, overlaying a map with ley lines?
Imagining streaks of energy criss-crossing the surroundings, he Improvised a lens to see them through and covered his eyes.
"Ladies? Any special requests? Or just the first thing that pops up? Because I'd like to avoid anything creepy, you know, just saying."

"Find something nice," Asp said with a little smirk that suggested she didn't much care, so long as the resonance wasn't absolutely awful. For her part, the young Arrow was dressed for success. Nothing illegal of course: a black t-shirt on over a thin layer of Kevlar with a little jacket on top to cover it well, with her backpack on, baton hanging from it. Water inside, phone inside, tasty trail mix inside. She had Sights and Armors on, her breakfast spell up and the Magic Shield done in the car. Ultimately, her and Avis were their defenders if they ran into anything nasty out here on the hunt for a Hallow.
Yup. Prepared.

Despite the heat, Avis wore a dark grey hoody and a pair of black jeans as they went strolling around town. She hadn't really put much thought into what she'd brought along, mainly because she didn't really have anything to bring along, so she'd just chosen something comfortable to wear. And, speaking of comfort, she took out a little plastic case, snagged a toothpick and stuck it between her teeth, the faint smell of cinnamon wafting from the little piece of wood. The case went back into her pocket, as did her hands.
"I don't know. I mean, it also kind of depends on where it is, right? If it's in someone's apartment we'd pretty much have to keep looking. Or we could persuade them to leave, I guess, but that doesn't sound too wise," she said, toothpick still between her lips. She rolled the little piece of wood to the other side of her mouth, enjoying the tingle the cinnamon brought with it, and quickly glanced around. It was important for them to keep on their toes. If there was a Hallow in the area there was a good chance that there would also be other willworkers, and from what the rumor mill said, many of those willworkers were not fond of the Consilium.

Wearing a light tanktop and jean capris with a little jacket wrapped around her waist and her messenger bag tossed over her shoulder, Mandy's gaze was rather preoccupied with the map she was idly examining, not spending much time actually watching her surroundings, though she was clearly aware of them. She sidestepped things with some serious precision, even as her eyes stayed on the map. "Since I've been told that these things can be altered by areas of great emotional significance, I did take the opportunity to read up a bit on some areas that might be places to check out or think about," she mumbled a little, brushing her hair back out of her face before reaching the hand into her messenger bag. "I have a list we can check out, in hopes of minimizing the amount of time this will take." Not that things usually went so smoothly, but she did approve of being prepared.
... and of Cut's stashed Gatorade. At least he was learning something.

"Yep, yep, that would be super awkward," he answered both the Arrows. "I think that's a last resort, right? Going all Imminent Domain and what-not?"
Something nice?
That was pretty generic. But, yeah. Something not-creepy. Or nasty. He didn't give a damn if some burst waste-water main was spewing... resonance... that wasn't for him. When Avis got her habit on, so did he. Touching the deck of cards in his pocket, he pulled them out and started doing one-handed cuts to occupy his fingers.
Cards.
Nice.
Luck.
"Hey, Mandy? Anything on there that might be, like, ummmm, a lottery ticket redemption place? Or something that might be spraying 'lucky' everywhere?"
Handy Mandy. Really? It was pretty cool. That whole 'Be Prepared' deal she was kicking. Actually, all of it was. Two badasses watching their backs, and a Smart Person? Highly. Effective. The shit, yo. This is how it's done.
So now it was his turn to contribute.
Concentrating, he looked through the lens he'd made.

Asp kept watchful, scanning about for anything that would attract her attention. Mandy's preparations were good and would certainly affect the resonance in the areas. She'd have to look into that stuff later on.
"Lucky?" the Arrow said with a grin.
Yeah, Cut would look for that.
"If we do that, we're going to end up being the ones hosting poker night." Not that that was a problem, as far as she was concerned. She liked poker, even if her poker face wasn't amazing. Her eyes flicked between the Guardians for a moment. They probably had awesome poker faces. She'd need the luck. "What's the jist of what you found, Mandy?"

Teeth lightly kneading the toothpick, Avis considered the idea of a 'lucky' hallow. It didn't take long. Who didn't want more luck? Besides, it wouldn't mess with any of her magic.
Avis snorted at Asp's joke. "I like Palisades better, but Poker night would be fun. Who knows, maybe I won't have to cheat so much with a fountain of luck nearby." The Mastigos grinned and looked off down the street, checking for any signs of magic, hostility, or otherwise odd behavior.

Luck? Where on earth was he anticipating that sort of thing would come from? She gave him a puzzled look as she shook her head. "Uh... I don't think so," Mandy responded after a moment, finally folding up the map and taking a look around a bit herself. Seriously... lucky? Where on earth did he anticipate that would be? A Casino? She didn't know about the others, but like hell could she afford anything around a Casino... she supposed that employing a touch of Fate wouldn't necessarily hurt in the search, but...
