Claire House Party

The Claire is located in the Communal Hunting Grounds’ Rack, The Changeling Freehold and within the Crusaders’ Territory.

Note: This is a Sticky that happens on April 4th 2013, and like many other major events you may split into side conversations, and you are allowed to bring up to three characters into the scene, provided they do nto interact or break any of the other Shards Rules.

As announced in the Sac Bee, the ballroom of the Claire was decorated for a rave turned birthday or perhaps a birthday party turned rave. The cash bar was stocked and there was a blond at the door collecting the cover charge. Further in the back was the blacklight-illuminated DJ nest -- hosting the sophisticated Bell.

Along one part of a wall was a buffet, the focal point of which were two large cakes with the city's skyline painted on their many layers.

There are tables and chairs spread about the edges of the room, skirting the area marked out for dancing.

[Uncarved]

The man who went by the name Uncarved found himself drawn to the Clair by simple curiosity. A celebration of a city's birth certainly caught his attention.

On this day Uncarved had eschewed the monk; instead of robes or his threadbare clothing, he wore black shoes, black slacks and a black button-down shirt - recent purchases crisp with freshness. He still maintained his shaven pate, however. Paying his cover charge with a silent smile and a nod, he slipped quietly into the gathering, taking his time to get his bearings.

Uncarved drifted towards the buffet; not from any real hunger but more for appreciation of the two impressive cakes.

Dash walked up to the door looking like he'd just pulled his clothes out of the dryer. And in the is case it was true, he'd just gotten cleaned up at a laundromat just for this event. Pulling a fistful of crumpled bills that also looked like they had been washed and dried, from his pocket he carefully peeled out and counted the entrance fee. He paid entirely in ones.

This buffet better be epic, I might not be able to eat tomorrow. The springtime was never a good time if you made your money performing on the streets, or living on them.

He entered the party, by-passing the slowly gathering crowd, and the food... for now. It didn't take long before he found himself near the D.J. booth. The DJ was a total babe, and music she was spinning wasn't bad either. It didn't take Dash long before he was dominating the dance floor, loosing himself in the music.

House Parties were always something Vaeltia seemed to miss out on, one reason or another they never worked well for her. But, this one was nice, or at least supposed to be.

And anything announced on the SAC Æthernet had some merit to it. The Claire wasn’t a club, but some small part wondered if Tracy Burns or Emma French ( Psychangel ) might show up. That would be interesting enough, she hadn’t seen either of them for some time, and the last time the three were together...well there had been some partying then.

Today she was dressed in black, a long sleeved shirt dress that revealed her legs in hose and ending in black heels. On her left wrist was a simple cuff bracelet and her hair fell just past her shoulders.

Evening Attire

Claire strolls into the Claire, which she liked to imagine had been named after her as her personal Vanguard but hadn't bothered to investigate, in a dress she hoped wasn't "over-doing it." Well, she pretended that was the case quietly to herself, but looking better than everyone around her was one of the few things that truly brought her ecstacy in life, or whatever it was that this was she was doing now. Blood had brought every facsimile of life needed to fool the casual observer, her hair was up and her makeup was flawless, and the diamond jewelry she wore matched the glittering shine of her dress ever so well. Her comparatively modest black heels complimented the look but didn't distract from her face. She wanted all attention to lead to upward. She might have been overdressed for the party, but she had a hard time resisting the urge to dance and look fabulous at any opportunity.

Entering the room, she could see that she did indeed outshine others here - all the better to see who might worship at her alter. For she was a favorite childe of the Earth, and here was a room full of presents. She was, of course, full at the moment (how silly would it be to come here on an empty stomach and make a scene), but she nevertheless wanted to have a good time.

The dancer in the middle of the room seemed to be making quite the display, but he wasn't her type. Ooo, maybe one of these cuties wants to chat, she thought, eyeing the women in the room who stood out. It never hurts to have a word or two. But maybe I'll wait just a bit.

She surveyed the room, looking distinctly for someone interesting enough to have a conversation with before jumping straight onto the dance floor. And the refreshments offered were very unlikely to interest her refined palette.

[West (The Mage)]

West loved music; consequently, he tended to enjoy house parties. Of course, it seemed a little odd to have one in such a nice location -- he was guessing this was going to be like having a crawfish boil at a country club. Still, that didn't stop him from showing.

As was his usual, he'd dug a music related t-shirt out of his closet. A closet divided equally between cheap suits and a strange assortment of casual clothes. The shirt was azure, and dark blue letters across the front said:

Da Ba Dee

Jeans completed the ensemble.

His eyes picked out the faces he knew, bookmarking one for a request, and he went and nudged his apprentice.

"Hey," he said to Vaeltia with a grin.

She looked great, but... obviously he'd need to add "How To Dress For The Occasion" to her lessons.

[Vae]

“Hey.” Vaeltia said as soon as she saw the relatively tall man she was apprenticed too. “Okay that’s an awesome shirt, where did you get it?”

Then she paused and looked beyond him to where the door was. “I don’t see any Riders, so I’m assuming you came out early, or the appocalapse already happened, and I missed it.” It was posed slightly as a question, because West was the only mage you could be apprenticed too and then not see for a few months.

The mountain does not go to Muhammed, so Muhammed must go to the mountain.

The Dancer continued to dance, but his heart wasn't in it. It was getting time to move, do something else, he was getting bored and his soul itchy.

Last song, then I hit the food tables and maybe mingle.

Uncarved dived into the buffet with some reluctance. He felt it was a shame to destroy such lovely creations as the cakes, given the effort in their creation. Instead he tucked into some of the smaller offerings and came away from the buffet with a small selection of pastries and sweet meats.

He decided to mingle. He didn't notice the fact that gravitated to the wall instead and from his vantage point turned to watching the party as an outsider looking in.

The man with the bald head and the stark, dark, clothes was contented, however. A slight smile played at the corners of his lips.

"Some party."

He'd have to use the shirt to pinpoint which one. There had been a time, right before Sacramento, where they'd done a lot of partying. Somewhere, he had a picture of Kai glowsticking. Somewhere, he had a picture of Uriel Forcesticking.

West glanced down.

"You can have it if you want."

Obviously, if he couldn't remember any particulars, nothing memorable had happened.

He turned his head toward his apprentice and grinned.

"I like house parties. Raves, too. The only thing better, music wise, is a New Year's party at a gay club."

Reaching into the back pocket of his jeans, he held up a CD.

"I even brought my own request."
