Nick Munroe sat at the MVP Sports Bar in downtown Sacramento Crusaders' territory, craving a smoke and drinking a beer. He wore jeans and a rough grey t-shirt, comfortable wear for a comfortable night. He'd invited out the other members of the pack to catch the Kings vs. Canucks game and grab a few beers if they were so inclined, a casual invitation for a casual evening. Just how the Iron Master liked it.

It was a busy enough night. While Sacramento didn't have its own NHL team, enough of the locals seemed to like the Kings enough to come out. This particular game was amusing because of the rivalry the Kings had going with the Canuckleheads. After whipping the shit out of Vancouver in the playoffs the year before and sending out a 'to the rest of Canada aside from British Columbia, you're welcome' Tweet on their website, the LA Kings still had some bad blood going with them... which made for rowdy hockey indeed.

    Fuck the Canucks.

A few seconds later, the Kings scored their first goal, and not long after, Nick's second beer arrived. It was going to be a great night!

Dale showed up just as the replay of the goal was showing, which brought a smirk to the Rahu's lips. "Fuck yeah!" he called out, being loud and obnoxious like your typical frat boy at a sporting event. But you know what, this was their turf, so who fucking cares? Noticing Nick by the bar, he gave the prospect a chin jut as he made his way over there. "Its looking like its gonna be a hell of a game," he said to the other Rahu, a shit-eating grin forming across his lips. "Bartender, give me a fucking pint of whatever you've got on draft tonight!" Dale slapped a ten dollar bill on the bar as he waited for his beer to be poured. People probably thought he was a bit...rude, but he liked to think it was more of a bit rough around the edges, sort of thing.

As his beer arrived, Dale took a vigorous gulp from it before setting the pint down in front of him. "So what's kickin' Nick?" he asked the Iron Master, trying to make some small talk with him while keeping his predatory eyes fixed on the TV screen showing the game.

Nick waved at Dale as he came in, looking back up at the screen for a few moments while the big Blood Talon delicately requested his drink order with a sip of his pint. "The Kings, mostly. Kickin' the Canuckleheads' asses, as is right and proper." He took a long swig to that, not requiring any sort of 'cheers' to get 'er done. "How you doing, Dale? You a hockey fan?"

Dustin Penner of the Kings flattened one of the Sedin Sisters in that moment, smashing the little speedy bastard against the boards and dropping him. Nick cheered.

Vincent didn't really drink that much, and he couldn't actually recall the last time he had watched a sorts game of any kind. He had an incredibly hazy memory of taking Molly to the park once, and watching some kids kick a ball around but that didn't really count. At least, the Wizened thought it was a memory. It could just have easily been the past dream of a man regretting a missed fatherhood.

He pushed open the door to the sports bar, almost immediately taken aback by the noise and the amount of people - although what had he been expecting?

Mostly he was there hoping for conversation fodder. Talking about sports was always a good topic opener, and he needed a bit of help in that department.

Keeping his hands inside his pockets, shoulders forward as if to make himself as unobtrusive as possible, Vincent edged through the people toward the bar area. Upon reaching a stool, he quickly claimed it and flagged down the nearest free bartender to order a beer. The Wizened didn't recognise anyone, but nor did he expect to.

At least if he screwed up, he probably wasn't going to meet anyone around here again.

His dark eyes rapidly scanned the people closest to him, before focusing on the television to get an idea of what in heck was going on in the world of sports.

Anya made her way into the sports bar, pulling the hood of her jacket down now that she was out of the cold. She had been out for an evening jog, and decided she could use something to drink. Well, really she just wanted to warm up a little; and the noise coming from inside the bar at least made it clear she wouldn't be the only one inside.

She makes her way towards the bar, not that hard of a feat even with the crowd given that most people tended to get out of her way as she walked. Once she was close enough to catch a glimpse of what was on tv, a slight smile parts her lips. You didn't grow up in a land of frozen tundra without learning about hockey.

Grabbing a spot at the bar, she waits patiently to flag down the bartender to place her order. The place was lively tonight, and at least she could watch that game while she waited.

Funny, she didn't figure Sacramento to be the kind of place that would be big into hockey...

Skaald pushes the door open wide in front of him before striding in like he belongs in the place. He quickly notices Nick Munroe and Dale Hunt and waves a hand in their direction. He stops by the bar for a pint before heading over and taking a seat.

"Hey boys, how goes the game?" he asks by way of greeting while simultaneously raising his pint toward them.

He glances around the bar, checking to see how many had turned out for a drink and some greasy food while watching what was quite possibly the only real sport played on this side of the Atlantic.

Dale let out a deep chuckle at Nick's response. "Go figure," he said as he took another sip from his beer. "Those Canadians will like the game better once they learn how to play it." With those words, the Rahu let out another hearty laugh. "I'm doing alright. How about you Nicky? Things going well?" he said in response to the prospect, sipping on his beer once more. "Not a huge fanatic, but I do enjoy watching a game here and there." Just as he said those words, Dale caught Skaald's wave out of the corner of his eye.

"Hey Skaald," he said in greeting to the Ritemaster. "Game's going well by the looks of it. The Kings are wiping the floor with the Canucks as usual."

Nick snorted and took a long swig. "Fucking Canucks. Arrogant pricks, really," he said with a smirk. "I'm doin' fine. Gotta finish my bike up soon. Digger and I made some good progress on it." As Skaald waved and Dale greeted him, the Iron Master turned on his seat and chimed in, "It's as it should be. Fucking Canucks. You want a beer?"

Skaald raises his pint in response to Nick's question, though the pint is already half empty. "Should probably sit down before I get a second," he replies with a grin. He didn't really care one way or the other between the Kings or the Canucks, he just wanted to see some damn good hockey. Of course, given where they were and who the teams were, it was no surprise that the Kings were the favorite tonight.

"Good to hear," he says with a grin. "Did I miss any good action yet?"

Even if the faint indication of a summer Mantle had not caught the winter courtiers eye, the height of the Changeling who stepped up to the bar certainly did. In so far as he could remember of his early time in Arcadia, he had not come up against any giant women in the labyrinth though, as so when he angled his body to Anya it was with a smile and not uncertainty.

He raised a hand very slightly in greeting, in case she wasn't actually in the mood to begin any sort of conversation. Vincent, for his part, was not a wonderful conversationalist but in a busy bar he figured it was par for the course.

Ahh... Hello," he added belatedly, in case she thought the arm movement was just a really odd twitch. Vincent had enough oddities without adding twitching to the list as well.
