You can roll Perception at -2, for the closer proximity to the bar.

As the bartender turned back to the guy and his impromptu gal, Mike can see the two men win at each other in a knowing fashion. Additionally, he can see that the woman seems oddly infatuated with staring at the guy. He seemed to like it.

Aidan raised a hand to attract the attention of one of the slightly older, but no less bubbly, bartenders. "Two beers," he instructed, in a polite but faintly dismissive tone of voice. He was not rude per se, but pehaps a little distracted by the bustle of so many people in such close confines.

"WestLife Medical, you say? I've heard good things," he remarked pleasantly. His manner suggested the compliment was honestly given, and not simply to get Doc Marcus on his good side.

He was clearly a man who knew how to network, and who to listen out for in order to make decent connections in the city.

“There’s some that even our Finest have trouble catching.” Which was one of two things to Daysha; they were either really crazy and clever or fucking supernatural. Sometimes, she wasn’t sure what was worse. “We live in a crazy world Mike.” Of course, the athlete would know precisely what the Detective was talking about.

Shaking her head in a slight dismay. “Well, if it’s not some Stalker after you, it’s the diseases that take you out.” As the two of them spoke, Daysha was watching and listening around the venue area.

Mike's eyes fixed on the couple over at the bar. There was something a bit too ominous there - something the Athlete didn't like, though he couldn't quite put his finger on why. All thoughts of the Mayor's aide had gone out of his head though, because he had a horrible feeling that something was going to happen.

"Speaking of crazy. Does something seem a bit wrong over there?" the Athlete said quietly, nodding towards the couple at the bar. "I got a bad feeling..."

The Doc replied, "We certainly try our best," with a chuckle. As the beers came, he raised the glass slightly to Aidan. "So how are you enjoying your work as the Mayor's aide, Mr. Wolfe? Is it an enjoyable posting?" he asked pleasantly, curious about what the young man would say. It was impressive, someone so young making such a splash at the Council Offices as to end up the mayor's aide in quick order.

His eyes settled on the young man as he replied, weighing the words as he sipped the beer.

"Yeah, they certainly looked sketchy," said April in response to Lynx, pulling a little closer to him. She wasn't typically afraid of such things, but it wasn't like she had a gun hidden somewhere in her costume...so the agent's presence certainly brought a certain comfort to her. "What do you think they are up to?" she asked, looking around the crowd to notice anything unusual.

Suddenly, as Daysha peered around the club it did not really matter per se what the group were up to anymore. What mattered was the sensation that snaked through her. It was something she had felt before, and it was an incredibly disturbing feeling - but it was one that could undoubtedly aid a Hunter.

There were vampires in the club.

One of the men was starting to lead the dopey looking young woman out of the club, an arm was slung around his shoulder. In the man's other hand was a drink and, as they neared the door Daysha can see him slip a little red-filled capsule into the alcohol.

A little closer to Bandit, the couple he had been studying are heading toward the back door. The man was in the midst of stuffing a hand into his pocket, to pull something out.

Doc Marcus

"It has its moments," the young man answered and allowed himself a small, but relaxed laugh. His manner suggested to Doc Marcus that, in his answers he was being quite truthful.

He had heard good things, and he did enjoy his job a great deal.

"Admittedly, it's great to have such responsibility, considering my age."

No more than seconds after Mike mentioned a bad Han Solo reference, it hit her. The Detective felt the cold chill down her spine as the swirling realization hit her. Fuck.

Between Daysha and Mike, she was pretty sure she was the only one packing anything beneath the costume. She really didn’t know if Mike had a conceal and carry, but she could assume he didn’t at the moment. Note to self, ask later… make him get one….and Ryan and probably Doctorow if he didn’t have one already. She was fairly positive Harlowe had one.

There were too many civilians in the club right now. And it was hard to tell which one was actually a vampire. But the one near the door was puzzling and alarming. Rohypnol or something else… blood?

Daysha attempted to nonchalantly pull a pen and scrap of paper out of her pocket, but didn’t really do the greatest job as she fumbled with the pen. Scribbling on the wrapper she wrote LEACHES and extended the H’s legs a little to look like fangs. Handing it to Mike. She added with a hushed tone. “Yeah, some creepier costumes than normal. Like realistic... ” And from that undertone, it should have been an alarming note to Mike. “And a slipped Mickey.” Hopefully the Athlete knew some spiked drink slang. The Detective pivoted and looked to the door. The way she stood, it looked like her attention was on Mike, but her eyes were clearly shot to the asshole slipping the liquid capsule into the drink.

Fail at inconspicuously writing things.

The Doc grinned broadly. "No doubt... you're what, around thirty? It truly is quite a feat for a man so young to have risen so quickly in government. What's your secret?" he asked. Ryan Marcus had no problem showing he was somewhat impressed.

He continued to assess the gentleman before him, taking the measure of one of Sacramento's rising stars.

Bandit glances about as he is moving to follow the pair. With a slight frown upon his face as he does so. He does his best to slip between bodies as he stalks the couple. He keeps a firm grip upon the staff, doing his best not to hurt anyone with it as he is walking. He did wonder just what it was that the guy pulled out of his pocket though...
