ST Note: I didn't intend to imply otherwise, but rather to simply note that this sensation of there being something very wrong was familiar to Ishani, Arnold and Headstrong, as they'd all experienced it earlier, while the sensation was unfamiliar, though no less strong, for the others.

When people start down, I would indeed like a marching order, and I would also like each person present to PM me a summary of Defense, any Armor or other defensive ability currently relevant, weapon(s) in hand (if any), any powers/Disciplines active and current Health status.
Everyone please note that this is a new scene, and Vigor, Resilience, etc. activated during the initial fight in the Chapter House have now expired and will have to be reactivated by those wishing to use them in this scene. Anything activated in "Outside the Chapter House" or since entering this scene is still in effect.

Glancing past the others to the stairwell as the sensation rushes over him, it was hard for Jayant not to feel out of place amongst such prestigious individuals.
Is this an external influence or an internal thought. Jayant gives his head a slight shake and continues to stare down into the darkness, his eyes becoming large black voids, waiting for his orders. Not that anyone would notice, but his dimnuitive frame becomes that little bit stronger, fuelled by his Mother's mystical blessing.

On her way back to the fray, Headstrong had made a ten second detour to the study where she'd first been beset by the mysterious creatures. In the now seemingly empty study stood an armor, the self-same armor that had it's spear taken by Konstantin in the Dragons' absence. Rahyna had gone through some trouble to clean and reassemble the armor, even going so far as to positioning it so it gained the appearance of a unmoving and silent guardian with both hands resting in front on the hilt of a down-turned sword.
Headstrong grabbed the sword by the hilt and pulled it free in one violent tug, scattering the lower arm plates to the ground with a clanging noise. Headstrong wasn't one who appreciated or even acknowledged symbolism. Turning back the way she came Headstrong swung the sword. Once! A bit heavier than she had expected. Twice! A little deviation to the left. Thrice! And she'd gotten the hang of it. Good enough for her immediate purposes anyway.
In her playfulness and arrogance she had thought only of fighting the intruders and had prioritized saving Jackson. If she had instead done her duty and thought only of killing the intruders and had gone for the sword... What a difference would that have made? Would she have vanquished the creatures at Jackson's expense and come to Rahyna's aid in time? Would she have seen both their lives lost but prevented this invasion of allies?
Pushing away such thoughts until she had time to examine her weakness later, Headstrong rejoined the group silently brandishing her newly acquired weapon as an explanation as to her ten second leave of absence. Headstrong again reinforced her body by drawing on the Curse of Stagnation and took a position at the front, either spearheading the group or walking side to side with another intrepid and enthusiastic defender of the Chapter House.

Asa paused as the feeling washed over him, and gave a curious look at Ishani, Jayant, and Gideon. Being Mekhet, they would be the most sensitive to this sort of anomaly, but they seemed unconcerned. He opened his senses, letting his eyes pierce the darkness and his ears detect every rustle of clothing. The smell of oil on blades warred with the perfumes Ishani and Twist wore. He almost shivered as clothing slid across his skin with each movement, and the hours old residue of blood in his mouth made him unconsciously lick his lips.
Footfalls behind them alerted him to Headstrong's reappearance, and he almost smiled at the large woman. They seemed to only meet under the most unusual of circumstances.
Since the former Sheriff had already deferred to the current one, Asa looked to Arnold and Headstong to see how they should proceed. The current state of his Beast, and the proximity of others, was already becoming a strain as time seemed to crawl during the moments of inaction.

Arnold burns a little more vitae to keep his musculature in its enhanced state - a regrettable expenditure, but necessary. His fingers, grip the handle of the large knife in his right hand. He takes the lead down the stairs. He knows what to expect from these creatures, and they had seen him kill one of their kind. If these things understood fear then Arnold felt that they should fear him, and know that their death walked at the head of the pack.

Gideon is rattled by the strange feeling he gets near the stairs, and he's barely able to keep an unsettled look off of his face. Truth be told, he knows he ought to be outside, where it is... safer, at least, if not entirely safe. But his Axe-Sworn comrade has already gone through much this night, and he's not entirely comfortable with her being the only Dragon on the premises while the others poke through its catacombs.
He stands back a bit from the stairway, eyes on Headstrong. She is Sworn to the Axe. If she wills it, he will come with them; if not, he shall remain.

So, is everyone present planning to go downstairs, and if so, in what order? If possible, I'd like to get things moving today, and if things aren't already decided by this evening, I'll start ghosting some to move them forward.
