Seeing Ariana's reassuring smile and listening to the tip about the book restored Martha to good humour. Confusion was removed. A happy giggle as Ariana shared the story about the beach. Nodding playfully...moreso now she knew her dear friend's intentions were good...Martha nodded. Twin tails wobbled. Ariana's reassurance came so swiftly, Martha had little time to feel even more foolish.

"Yes, please!" she replied in confiding hushed tones to Ariana's invitation to discussion. "I should like it very much, thank you!" wide and innocent eyes looked to Ariana. Trusting and sincere.

The fairest resisted the urge to facepalm, some men were just so dense. “Yes, such as you. Unless you don’t like the personal interests of the staff?” he shifted back slightly.

“Yes, I know; I wanted to know if you liked it or not. After all, I have seen a few people pick up the middle books of series before, and I wasn’t sure if you would count as one of those.” He sighed, perhaps his aim was just a little off today.

“Well if you are willing to talk later, I’ll be around. The name’s Dominyk by the way.” he said with a slight tilt of his head before approaching the other patrons.

“Interesting choice, Sir ( Lance Rayner ), But I do think we have Nymphos of Rocky Flats somewhere around here.” He said with a grin, the flourish of chocolate and cinnamon unfurling around him as he looked over man. Then he turned to the redhead ( Ariana Donovan ) and Martha ( Chrisie ).

“Good evening, M’Ladies and M’Lord; See anything you like?” he clasped his hands behind his back with an innocent I’m willing to help look on his face.

Lance takes the book offered to him by the Harpy and smiles as he flips through the Vampire book in his hand. "Oh, and here's the good stuff," he mumbles to himself as he skims it as the ladies have their discussion. After a moment, he arches his eyebrow critically. "I've changed my mind, this has to be a piece of brilliant satire. I flatly refuse to believe that you can write softcore pornography this badly on accident."

When the man that smells like hot chocolate approaches, Lance snaps his head up to regard him carefully. Very carefully. The Daeva breathes in deeply the man's aroma before replying. "Yes, I think I do." He gestures to the women and himself. "I think we were just about to get into a discussion about erotic satire and the works of De Sade. I've read some of his work, it might be a little hypocritical of me, but I think de Sade's fixation on Sodomy borders on unhealthy. What do you think?"

"Oh, me?" Dillon gestures with a tilt of his head over to cute little Martha and her armload of books, a few feet away. "Wherever she goes, I follow. You know how it is."

Her words carry the authority of the man who rules this city. And I have been tasked with murdering anyone who is foolish enough to consider harming her. Yeah, you know how it is. Kind of like that.

Only Dillon can't tell Bobby all of that. He has to let the young man draw his own conclusions about the nature of their relationship.

"Not that this sort of thing is completely off my radar. And pretty much like you said, you never know what you're going to find." He plucks one of the random books with a hard-bodied man on the front with a title that catches his eye. What a Dragon Should Know by G.A. Aiken, which he waves playfully at Martha with a raised eyebrow. It was probably the safest pun he could make on her Covenant with that book series in public. God knows if he'd picked up The Dragon Who Loved Me, it'd probably be a race to see which vampire in the room threw something at his head first.

Aenigma follows the man's gesture, only to find the pretty girl with all the books, surrounded by a small crowd of attractive people. His eyes linger on them for a little longer than he means to, before he turns back to face Dillon and gives him a nod. "Gotcha. Well, be glad that she dragged you to the public library instead of the mall," he says to him with a playful grin.

Cute and smart is a good combination. Lucky guy...

"Yup, sometimes you find an interesting book that has been collecting dust amongst these shelves," he says as he glances around the place. "Of course that's if you are lucky, or know where to look for." The youngster gives a little shrug and then says, "so far I've only been able to find romance novels and some stuff by Dan Brown, which is not really my style, you know?"

Dominyk was surprised at the sudden talk of Marquis De Sade; particularly in front of Ladies. And his eyes traced over the patron, taking in the sight and noting the words he had used. “Really, Sir, you were to speak of such things in the presence of these two beautiful Daisies? Surely that could not have been the only topic that you could have chosen.” He said indicating Martha and Ariana.

However, considering the unsurprised looks on redhead’s face; perhaps he does this often.

He stepped closer for a moment and lowered his voice, his eyes firmly on the gentleman. “As for his fixation, to each his own. There is no way that he possessed the most unhealthy one; there are others. But if you would like to carry such a discussion further, I don’t think now would be the correct time or place. Perhaps we could continue on that vein another time, Mr....?”

And I have gotten up close and personal with one of them.

Martha's predatory vision was attuned to peripheral motion and caught to wave of the book...she smiled and nodded happily acknowledge Dillon's dragon joke...she was about to make happy reference to it to Ariana when the matter of sodomy was somehow inserted into the conversation. Gripping hard at her books, she watched with widening eyes as she heard the conversation unfold. A moment of listening again convinced her it was no joke and that she really had heard what she had heard. A shy smile. A shuffle of her real leg on the floor in a bashful and slightly nervous gesture.

Martha had gone quiet and blinked to Ariana while gripping the books harder to her chest.
