4suxx to Cloak of Night
Conner envelops himself in shadow and waits for the police to enter the building. Conner wants to wait and see if he can gather any further information. Ariana and Sidor are gone, Dillon escaped. But tonight would not be a complete loss, Conner would wait and see what he can hear.

Conner is going to have fifteen to twenty minutes before police arrive, which he'll be able to hear. Is he going to do anything in that time?
Conner makes his way up back into the apartment building and heads up the steps to the apartment. Conner's keen senses listen for anyone around as well as any fire. Not all explosions are fire based, Perhaps there is something left in the apartment that may give me any sign of what happened before the explosion.

The door to Coben's is closed now, no doubt blown shut by the force of whatever exploded. The smell of chemicals and acrid bite of smoke burns Conner's heightened sense of smell; it's almost enough to make him dizzy.
Conner looks around to see if anyone else is in the hallway or in line of sight. If there is no one around Conner will step to the side so he is not in line of sight of the peep hole. Conner lowers the cloak of night and concern shows on his face. Conner gives his head a shake to clear the buzzing and makes a point to stop breathing. The mekhet removes a glove and presses the back of his hand to the door trying to feel for any heat. Conner will then check the knob, again using the back of his hand as to not leave any finger prints.

The handle is cool, but locked.
If this is not enough successes to pick the lock, I will roll again.
Conner slides his glove back on his hand and removes a lock pick set from the inside jacket pocket and goes to work on the lock.

The deadbolt probably would have foiled a skilled burglar, and definitely an average one. Yet it yields to Conner's deft touch, and the dull, heavy sound of the bar sliding is the sweet sound of victory.
Inside, the place is in shambles. A plastic kitchen garbage can is shredded into an ugly plastic mess that looks like something inside of it exploded. The chemical pollution is thicker in here; enough to sting at Conner's dry, dead eyes. A picture wall of windows is blown out, and over the crenelations of jagged glass, Conner can see the flashing lights of a police car below.
Theres something beige, hairy, and black that glistens every time the police car's light strobes onto it hanging on one of the large window shards.
Please note that approaching the window will probably make Conner visible to those outside.
Conner's eyebrow raises as he looks to the room as a whole. Conner looks at the glistening thing and his tactical, paranoid mind, automatically takes stock of the thing...
Conner stays clear of the windows to make sure he is not seen...
