"What knows his sins Donaldson?" Fletcher asked, deciding to try and play along with Donaldson's psychosis. "What mark do you see on him? Go ahead, tell him. He'll understand, won't he?"

"H-he knows. He was exposed. They were both exposed," Donaldson whispers. He looks at Jake, suddenly, his face paling. "He knows that you're a coward deep down. That you don't think you measure up. That you're jealous. He knows you were transferred here because you couldn't cope." He mumbled, then he looked across at Derevko. "A-and he knows about you, too. About your ex-wife. About how you fucked her in a motel room and argued afterwards. He saw everything. He was with you when you were doing it. He knows about the fights."

Derevko's eyes narrowed and his teeth clenched. Fuck! This guy was some... some fucking cold reader, yeah, that'd do it. Probably explained how the bastard won over his victims. Throw in a little bullshit about the right stuff and some people would lap it right up.

    Knew about Grace though, Derevko.

More fucking likely that he knew a guy of your age without a wedding ring'd be divorced and lonely, you stupid asshole.

Beatrix and Derevko both pick up on something immediately. Donaldson is deadly, deadly serious. He's giving off absolutely no vibes of insanity at all. He really believes Derevko and Dullahan have been exposed to something. He really believes what he just said about both of them.

Beatrix frowned slightly, thankful that her eyes were hidden from the murder before her. His belief might have been consistent and absolute, but that reflected only reflected that he was prone to thematic delusions, not that his mind was stable. He might be one of the rare cases of schizophrenics who become violent, or he might have developed a more general psychosis; there was no way to tell. Regardless, they needed all the answers they could get, and if she was going to be a part of this, she would need to develop some type of connection with Donaldson. If he didn't open up, however, she'd have to talk with Dullahan and Derevko and convince them to take lead.

Beatrix knelt down, so that she was eye level with the Murder, and took off her glasses. "Mr. Donaldson, who is it that you refer to? Who is this 'he'? Is it Dr. Hertz, or is it someone entirely different? Tell the two beside me who it is; they're not going to believe you otherwise. Maybe if you can explain it to them, they'll be willing to discuss it." She stared directly into his eyes, her gaze unflinching, unblinking, challenging him to look away.

So it was about a lunatic who thought he could listen to God - yeah, the hints couldn't be clearer. It could have been worse if he knew how to build a homemade bomb, but despite the mass killing he was relatively inoffensive.

Still... He had hit bullseye, hadn't he? Jake couldn't help but turn his gaze away from Donaldson, trying hard to hold still. That didn't need to mean anything, though, only that he was an open book to anyone who wished to look - everyone could do a cold reading.

But he should be able to stop that, to be less open to a common, delusional perp. Yeah, he wasn't prepared to the field, he knew. He manages to face Donaldson and the others again, but the tension is very visible on his body.

Donaldson gave a nervous little giggle and looked directly at Jake. His eyes seem unfocused, as though he's slipping away on some level.

"Have you heard his voice yet, Jake?" he said, his voice sounding almost drunk. "I hear it all the time. He's laughing at you. Too scared to open your mouth, hiding behind the other two. Coward. Did your balls never drop as a kid?" Donaldson chuckles weakly. It sounds like a sob. There are tears running down his face.

"Hertz was meddling in things he shouldn't have been meddling in. Your boss knows!"

Why did Fletcher give space to Donaldson's delusions on first place? He is a maniacal, and was good in cold reading, Dullahan rationalized. That's all that there is. Jake tried to keep his voice and glance firm as he spoke.

Still, he wasn't the same man they had arrested a day earlier. He seemed like someone else entirely. Self-assured.

"Mr. Donaldson, we're not here to talk about either me, or agent Flatcher, or Agent Derevko. We're here to know about dr. Hertz and those other people. You remember the other people, don't you, Donaldson? The ones plastered in the wall? Why did you kill them, Donaldson?" Maybe if the man was bluntly remebered of what he had done he would be thrown off balance. It wasn't possible he would not be affected by something just a few hours ago he was devastated about.
