"Why are we chaining her up? Um, I don't know, because that why I don't have to worry about it waking up and killing me one night? I mean, we can't just ash this thing. It's literally, and I mean literally, our only clue about this whole slug affair. Oh, and she's not ash yet, so that means it's not dead. Just, paralyzed or something. It might wake up, ya know," The abbey gal, explained. Finally they came to a simple white door, and after fumbling around with the handle, Lexi opened it and began to descend into her basement. After the body is dropped on the floor, Lexi clicked on the lights, revealing the room to be a simple concrete box with no windows and only a few boxes stacked in the corner. The young Hunter began rummaging through one and pulled out two lengths of chain and two heavy duty padlocks, acting as if she did this everyday. She handed Daysha one of the chains and gestured at the vampires legs before she began unwrapping and then chaining up the vampires arms and torso.

"Hey, I should have apologized earlier, but it was my bad about trying to rush you guys into things. At the apartment, I mean. You and Mike were both hanging back, and as the third wheel I should have followed. I'm too used to how the Abbey goes about things. With them it's all planned, even the after parties, so being reckless was almost encouraged. Honestly though, I think I like your way better; the unorganized, gritty, might-die-at-any-second-and-thus-need-caution-way. I'm willing to follow your lead and be more cautious if we work out some sort of system. Ya know, like figure out our teamwork strategy."
    Lexi said with a shrug.

Daysha began putting the chains on the red-headed-slut of a vampire after Lexi unwrapped her. “No, you’re right about the slug thing. What the fuck would do this to a vampire and not actually ash it? I tried to call my father to see if he knew anything, but my mother answered the phone.” There was some detest as she said mother.

“So, do you have any other… things down here?” Casually looking around the room.

“We live and learn Lexi. How does the Abbey do things?” She chuckled quickly. “I’m fairly certain I wasn’t unorganized, you didn’t ask.” Daysha said slightly throwing her words away. “The thing is, with plans they are always subject to change. If I planned to go in there and step by step take out a vampire or even a criminal, I may exceed my expectations and get caught off guard. But you’re right, we should figure out some team work. Whether or not you believe it, I have your back.” When we’re hunting…

Hunting the crap in the world. Now, picking up guys in a bar... doubtful.

"Oh, hey, I'm not trying to call you unorganized," Lexi said quickly, her tone apologetic. "I'm just saying that so far our method has been kinda fucked up. Just look at our history. With the Abbey, however, it's generally quite a bit different. We pick a target, find out what it is, 'stalk' it, and then go at it once we have favorable conditions. Think of fox hunting, but instead of horses or dogs, it's cars, and instead of foxes, it's monsters. I mean, just for an example. That's not all we do," Alexis laughed nervously, realizing that she was probably scaring away her only non-Ashwood contact. "But, uh, keep in mind that I don't only do things with the Abbey. That's why I went to the Spiral and got involved with this, after all; and uh, if you've got my back, I've got yours."

She finished putting vampire under lock and chain, with Daysha's help, but remained crouched next to the red-head. "You think we should try and wake it up? Maybe try and...feed it?" Lexi asked hesitantly, shooting Daysha a searching look.

Daysha dismissed the unorganized conversation as Lexi meant nothing by it. She also realized things were very similar between Abbey stuff and some police work. Some, not all. “Well it sounds much like a stake-out. Watching the culprit, waiting for they’re move, then closing in on them when they least expect it.”

“So what else do you do?” She asked inquisitively with the facial features to match.

Daysha looked at the vamp then looked at Lexi. “Uh, before we feed it, we should probably figure out what the slug thing was first. I mean who knows if it makes vampires completely crazy. More than they already are.”

Oh please let's be smart about this...

"Actually, your right, a 'stake out' is a better description," Lexi giggled, a note of relief coloring her laughter. She shook her head and stood up, her gaze alternating between the vampire and the Detective.

"The red-head's all chained up, Day, I think we'd be safe enough. Still though, if you'd rather wait till we know more, then I'm all for that. Not really eager to open a vein for a corpse, ya know? Besides, we both know that she can pull some kind of mind-fuckery." She shrugged and threw the tarp over the vampire before she started heading for the stairs. "Might as well talk someplace that has comfortable seating, right? C'mon, I'll fix us a few drinks."

Are we having girl’s night or some shit?

Daysha smirked not realizing the own pun she made. “Look, the fang-lady is here and not going any where. I’d rather figure out what the slug is before we revive her. I mean, look at it…” She trailed off and looked at Lexi. “And I’m not donating my blood to for one parasite to figure out another.” She went to run her fingers through her hair then realized there was probably unwanted goo in her hair.

Daysha followed Lexi back up the stairs. “Yeah, I could go for a drink. Just one though.” For obvious reasons. “So this is just a temporary house or something?” Although she wasn't sure how temporary it was considering there was a sweet Camero in the driveway.

"Well, it was supposed to be," Lexi said, slightly exasperated, "but then Cal moved in here. Originally, I bought it so that I'd have a place that was out of the way, where I could run to if something happened; ya know, like I said earlier, it's a safehouse. When Cal joined the Abbey, though, I agreed to sponsor him, and after he pitched in some cash to this place he decided to move in. I've got a condo downtown that I live in normally, but it is nice to escape out here sometimes. Or it would be, if I could get Cal to move out and get his own damn place." She groused, leading Daysha into the living room.

"Be just a sec," Lexi said, disappeared somewhere into the house. A few minutes later Lexi appeared with two drinks in hand and passed one to the detective. "Alright, there's a gin and tonic, light on the gin. Like I said, it would be nicer if Cal found his own place. Ugh. Anyways, I think you asked what else I do? Were you meaning when I'm not hunting or the other stuff I do with the Ashwood Abbey?"

“Thanks.” She said as she took the drink from Lexi.

“A safe house with a vamp vault.” Daysha’s face crinkled up. “Huh, yeah I guess that would come in handy depending on what you’re escaping from. So what is Cal’s deal? Earlier tonight he looked a little… oh what’s the word… screwed up?” Her brow rose in question.

“Yeah, what you do with the Abbey.” Although it seems like you eat, sleep, breath and whatever the *Abbey*. “Or if you do anything outside the Abbey, hobbies, a job if you have one… anything.”

"I have no idea, Daysha. My policy is, unless Cal OD's, I'm just gonna give him space. Best policy in my opinion," Lexi said offhandedly, taking a long sip from her drink. She put her feet up on the coffee table and slumped down on the couch, looking exhausted.

"Hmm. Well, the Abbey throws parties and balls, I already mentioned the annual hunts, and...that's about it. It also helps provide its members with certain privileges, but I'm not going to get into those. As for what I do outside of the Abbey? Well, I actually do a bit of event organization for Ashwood, which is similar to a job, and I've been looking for businesses to invest in. In Vegas I actually put some money into the Casino business. I wasn't a big shot, not by any means, but after the market crash happened some of the good 'ol boy backers pulled out and that left more space for the pint-sized investors. Pretty cool stuff, actually. Shame Sacramento doesn't have any of that," Alexis laughed. In truth she'd called in her family to help set up her financial basis and make introductions for her, but she didn't feel like mentioning that.

"For hobbies, though, hmmm. Well, I paint occasionally, I dance, I, uh, I don't know. I love to drive," she said, adjusting her slouch. "Car, motorcycle, whatever. If it has wheels and a motor then I'll want to take it for a spin. There's just nothing like it, when you're flying down the road, the hum of a powerful motor singing in your ears, the world flashing by."
She gave a knowing grin and took another drink.

"Otherwise I like to just hang around, see what the nightlife has to offer, go to art shows, help stimulate the economy...useless stuff. Probably nothing that would surprise you; or make you think any better of me," Alexis laughed. "How about you?"

Annual hunts? Like the fox hunt for UK’s royalty or some shit?

“So the Abbey hunts for… sport?” Daysha asked. She was probably prying too much, but she was curious.

“Wow, seems you know what you’re doing with money.” She didn’t say it as a jealous tone, just a statement of fact. “Well I’m sure Sacramento has other stuff you could invest in. I mean, it is the State Capitol. You’d think there’s something to dig into around here. But I don't know much about that stuff. Seems a lot of shit changed its pace after the crash.” Like bullets went up in price.

“Painting? That sounds kinda fun, anything interesting?” As she took a drink she realized a cig would go great with it but she’d wait. “I enjoy driving myself although I’m not much of a risk taker with that. I do have a reputation to uphold.” She smirked.
