Chris was never very close to the man, yet emotionally it hit him. He knew that deep in his heart the former Regent had been a fellow Acolyte. He had granted them a place for a temple. What would happen now?
Chris looks around in the room, but without the proper investigation skills he didn't feel very useful at this moment.

Amelita sees what Conner saw, but with more detail; small things. A hint of fear in Jayant's frozen rictus, a protrusion at chest level of the stake pressing into the back of the chair. There's something dark and wrong about the vision, even if she can't put her finger on it.
And, speaking of fingers, is that a wedding ring on the assailant's finger?
Then it hits, in a rush. Pain, loss. As if every pore in her body were being pulled at and violated, as if the wet, sucking sounds were stealing more than just Blood.
Amelita needs to roll Resolve + Composure at -2 (the amount over an E-suxx rolled) to avoid Rotschreck; 2 successes needed.

Amelita hears Beast in her ear, rolling the scene around in her strained mind. It emphasises the darkness and the wrongness in time with a phantom heartbeat that's entirely off. She bites her lip and tries to keep it together... then she feels the levy break and fulfils the Greyson legacy like a prodigy, bolting out of the house.

"Huh? No, I'm not... Fuck, that was like drinking battery acid..." Amelita murmured, placing a ringed hand against the wall, supporting her frame as the last vestiges of primal fear juddered through her cold body. She moved towards Conner, lowering her voice. Her expression was fearful.
"I saw what happened to Nagaraj. He was sat on a chair. Staked. Afraid. The person who did it - wore a wedding ring. I felt it. Like my soul or something, the thing inside just sucked out, ripped out. That's what happened to Nagaraj. Diablerie?"

Conner says his face showing no emotion at all, even though someone he considered an ally is currently a pile of ash. "Mister Wooding have you found anything of note?"

It was as if his name woke him up. Chris blinks, and shakes his head. His voice has a disappointed tone, 'Sorry Priscus, no...'
Sometimes, it was all to obvious how new to the world this Acolyte actually was. Diablerie? The Destruction of our own kind... why?

Amelita relates that the hand was pale, and soft, but a man's. The ring itself was old with light scratches and pitting, and cheap-looking, possibly the cheapest a ring could be, and still be called 'gold'.
As Conner finishes searching, they all realize the night is waning, and they're all far from their Havens.
Among the odder things revealed by the search, are the coloring books and dolls of a child, carefully put away.
There's also the bloody drawing on the wall, with lines thick enough to have been smeared by a hand rather than a fingertip.
