For an organization where protocol is king, this was,to say the least, indecorous. But Jordan took the hint fast enough.
"Come on, Ryan. Theo, we'll meet you in the research room you took me to."
A nod to John. "Provost."
Walking back up the aisle, Jordan said to Ryan pleasantly: "Have you ever noticed that when you are getting used to new people and new places, the most common thing you ever hear is 'come on?'"

((OOC Considering some of the other stuff Theo's done in the past, asking with a please for John to get the item, isn't the worst misstep he could have made))
Theo retrieved the books and brought them to Jordan and Ryan. Since Jordan was looking at the books now and the time he had planned for the tour was over anyway, Theo left afterwards to go to the hallow and try to meditate away his frustation at the useless bureaucractic nature of the Mysterium.

Theo goes to Workroom G: a large room, with a vaulted ceiling. Shelves line the walls, some with curios, many with books. Neatly written tags adorn most of the items, with their pertinent information, in Tyria or John's handwriting. The majority of the books are on shelves against the far wall.
Dominating the room is a chessboard which appears to be made of glass, or crystal. The pieces stand roughly four feet tall, and it appears a game is in progress.
It's going to be very difficult to skirt the edges of the board and get to the bookshelves, Theo realizes.

Theo sighed. Of course the chessboard filled the room and he was expected to not touch it, assuming Starling wasn't messing with since John hadn't corrected that point. Then again the pattern of his assumptions lately probably meant he could prance around on the squares with abandon without worry. Theo took a moment to examine the placement of the pieces and began the task of skirting the edge while checking the shelves for the information he had memorized from the reciept.

Almost his very first Theo lost his balance and planted a foot very firmly on the board. ((Assuming nothing happens)) Theo then proceeded to have his foot hit the squares three more times, used his hand to catch himself on one of the pieces to keep from falling, and bumped his hip against another just as he got to the book case.

~~Narration~~
Theo gathers himself to try to scoot around the board without touching it. He isn't sure what will happen, but it can't be that bad. He even knows he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting all the way around it, but it can't be that bad.
He takes a long sideways step... and slips. Simultaneously his other foot comes down on the board as he reaches out to a bishop to steady himself.
When the Provost came back to check on the workroom, the first thing he noticed was the look of absolute surprise on the corpse's face.

Minutes stretch in to quarter hours, then half hours.
Jordan and Ryan realize Theo isn't coming back.
