Vince loads his car up and gets in. Throwing his phone on the passenger seat he thinks of the mall address again. It would be neat to check it out, but he needed to get into WoW and knock out some daily's. He was close to get Exalted with the Kalu'ak. Torn Vince paused with the keys in the ignition.

Vince piles everything into his car and heads home/towards the old mall. He passes it once before pulling into the parking lot.

2500 Riverside turns out not really to be on the path home, in fact it's in the other direction. So be it his curiosity had been peeked. After circling the area a few times, with no mall sighting and a few choice profanities, Vince pulls over at the corner Valero on Riverside and Broadway to get his bearings.
No longer driving he has time to focus on the directions on his phone with out endangering others with a giant grandma-mobile. Within a few seconds it becomes clear. 2500 Riverside is now a Target store, and not a new one either. Just looking at the trees in the parking lot one would say they are 15-20 years old.
The smell of gasoline is compound by the waves of heat radiating of the parking lot's asphalt.

Vince scatches at his head in confusion. But the flier didn't seem so old. He was about to take off back hom before he recalled Grandma needed her vitamins and he needed some beverage. He got out and headed inside the store, glancing about the place and wondering which way the vitamins were.

The big box store provides a plethora of budget vitamins to choose from. Vince grabs grandma favorites and pays and heads out.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
He glances about the parking lot before reurning to his car with grandma's 'vittys' He turns the key prepares to get home as fast as possible.

|
|
|
As Vince looks about he sees out of the corner of his eye a lady in 50's attire. Vince does a double take, and all that is there is hot empty parking lot.
|

|
|
|
|
Vince takes his glasses and cleans them on his shirt. They seem more cloudy afterward then they were before. Maybe that was the intention? He glances about again before pulling out and heads toward the lot's exit.
|

|
Vince's world fills with the sound of screeching tires.
Before he can register the meaning of this sound his body is jolted violently as small pickup truck slams into the front quarter-panel of Vince's car. The car spins around, and finally settles to a halt, blocking the entrance to the strip mall. The engine clicks a few times and then sputters out, and smoke rolls out from under the crumpled hood.
It all happened so fast. Vince checks himself and finds that he's mainly un-hurt. The car is definitely fucked, but except for the shakes and an aching neck Vince decides he will be ok.
Looking around he sees the other car careened off of his and struck a telephone pole. The front end is absolutely mangled, and like Vince's car the truck is completely totaled. The truck's horn is blaring continuously and Vince can notice an unmoving figure slumped over the steering wheel in the crumpled cab. As he watches the passenger side door opens and someone tumbles out onto the sidewalk.

His mother always told him it was wrong, but Vince stares anyway. It takes him a moment to register everything that just happened. As watches the figure come out, he goes for his cell phone. Lucky him he kept it in his pocket. Vince dials 911 and waits for a response. As he waits he checks his new computer. He just spent a a kazillion dollars and it didn't have idiot insurance.
