Performance Competition

[Nightfall]

The place isn't that big, and probably too small for what's going down. Porta-awnings are set up outside, with one or two porta-potties. A concession stand and attendant have been rented, and there's already a good number of people milling about and checking out the schedule.

For the most part, it's a chaotic clusterfuck. If anyone had any question on whether or not Glissade's owner was an accomplished event organizer, that question is answered.

Inside, those that have been to Glissade before --but not recently-- might notice a few changes. A set of stairs leading upwards is now accessible, and closer inspection will reveal the upstairs has been soundproofed and turned into an indoor handgun range. The downstairs remains split into two, but the entire area is open for people to move about.

There's a stage with rented audio equipment; a digital jukebox and karaoke machine chairs surround it. Several of the chairs are marked 'reserved': NF, AW, AA, TN, & RP.

Once again, Glissade held a competition for the performing arts, an open event that wasn't just focused on dancing, and once again, Terri made sure she was there and as excited as always.

The fact that there was too be a karaoke machine was just pure awesome.

Bounding in early, with long-suffering fiance Rick grasped firly by the hand, she hadn't stopped beaming.

"Oh, this is going to be epic, absolutely awesome!"

Looking around, and she noticed the seats near the front, the one reserved, and pretty much exploded with glee as she saw their initials.

"Look, look! We've even got reserved seats!"

Leo Glass slunk into Glissade, wearing his most expensive pair of jeans and a plain white T which simply said DUBSTEP across the chest, possibly in marker pen. A pair of pink shutter shades hung from the Mirrorskin's collar.

Fucking karaoke. Of course. These people did it at every possible opportunity. Leopold sprawled out into a seat in the mid-rows, thinking on what his act was going to be. He'd vowed never to battle rap since his caustic flow had given DemJeanz an eating disorder... Dared he break the oath? Leo mulled it over as he peeled away foil and took a bite out of a sandwich he hadn't managed to finish earlier.

[Nightfall]

Neil is circulating, mainly putting names on a clipboard. He's wearing jeans and a t-shirt which has large letters proclaiming:

"Hey Terri, how's it going?" he asks, finding her and Rick.

[Al-Adin]

Al-Adin bounces into the dance hall with his usual joy and life. Those who can hear can tell he's coming just by listening to what sounds like a small schoolbus of children giggling and laughing.
He spots Nightfall and Terri, but doesn't rush over just yet, he is more entranced by the karaoke machine, and just saying hi to random people. Nightfall will always be there. Al-Adin keeps the perpetual smile of happiness on his face as he walks up to the winter courtier.
"Hiya! I don't know you!"

[Dean]

Leopold stares blankly at Al-Adin, holding the Venetian lenses up to his eyes like a pair of opera glasses for a moment, squinting at the monkey man for a moment before slotting them back over his shirt collar.

"Nope. Actually we've met before, about... five months ago? Yeah, you interrupted a conversation I was having and challenged my friends and I to a race across rooftops. I told you to screw off, because that's a dumb idea."

The Mirrorskin leans back in his seat and takes another bite of his sandwich.

[DrDog]

"Really? I don't remember that!" Al-Adin nods sagely. "Ok then, So are you looking to have fun tonight? Its going to be awesome! Singing and juggling and all sorts of cool stuff!"

[Dean]

"Of course, why would you? That's gotta be something you just do on a basic day," Leopold answered, letting some of Al-Adin's chipper tone creep into his voice. The Mirrorskin swallows a mouthful of sandwich.

"But I tell you, I am ravenous for fun. And my TV broke. So I'm here."

[Matt]

Kaito enters Glissade, her mantle causing a shaft of ice cold air to blow into the area as she entered.

She was wearing her usual outfit. Kaito only had 4 outfits. 2 of them were what she normally wore, it had been a buy one get one free sale. She also had her work uniform from the Ice Rink and some jeans and a t-shirt. She needed to sort her cash-flow soon. People would start to think she was a hobo. If they did they would not be far off.

Walking a bit further in she stopped and took a look around to see who was in.

For his part Rick couldn't help but grin ever so slightly in amusement at the barely contained chaos surrounding them. Somehow...he hadn't really expected anything else from Nightfall.

His own outfit wasn't nearly so...floral, as Terri's. Mainly because he didn't own anything that could rightfully be considered floral. So he'd just stayed with his usual layered, patterned shirts. Though he'd at least made an effort to try and coordinate the colors with Terri's dress.

His gaze flickered over to the chairs as Terri drew attention to them, and he was a bit surprised at the gesture. Appreciative of it, too, "Yeah, looks like we'll have a pretty good view of the performances."

When Nightfall approached them, and he read his shirt, Rick did have to suppress a slight snicker. Perhaps it was for the best then that he'd skipped the interview with Terri, he never had been much for dancing. Thankfully that never seemed to have resulted in any complaints about the job.

He certainly does offer Neil a nod of greeting, but opts to let Terri speak first. Partially because she was the one his question had been mostly addressed to. But mainly because she was just so much more of a people person than he was.
