The branching tunnel slopes upward for about five feet; it's a tight fit, but there's enough room to move one's arms and even bend the knees a bit. The Claw marks have created divots at regular intervals, like ruts on a well worn path, which makes the going even easier.

At the crest of the slope, it abruptly drops straight down again, although Max's enhanced eyes can see that it curves away again after about a fifteen foot drop.

Most likely, it's a p-trap, to keep the well from filling with rainwater and flooding the tunnel. The bad news is that, once Max goes down, coming back up will be damn hard.

Wilhelm started descending down the rope soon after his Whip. He was not quite sure how well the man would be able to handle climbing down with just one hand, and everyone knew that you did not want anyone below the individual most likely fall during a climb.

Once he got to the bottom he regarded the rope briefly. It would be nice if they could conceal it somehow, to prevent any Kine from catching wind of anyone being down here. But even an obfuscation would not prove sufficient for any considerable length of time.

Then he glanced back to the tunnel mouth that Max had disappeared into. "Do you see anything of note in there?"

*Max shimmies his way back a little from the edge, turning his head back around to answer.* It looks like the tunnel continues on after a drop; but it's going to be almost impossible to get back once we go on. How much rope did we bring with us?

"Not enough," Wilhelm answers.

"Besides, Greyson's rescued. I'm done here."

Thomas watched as the Priscus decided to ignore this possible threat to the Domain and left the three other Mekhet to face the situation. He shook his head at the Priscus' disregard for finishing what he had started and turned his attention back to the more proactive members of his clan and the situation at hand. "What we're using is all that I brought." Focusing on the task before the group was important for Thomas right now, since it took his mind away from the cold dead fury he felt at Von Schusten's departure.

*Max pushes his way back down the incline, shaking his head slowly as he thinks over the possibilities.* I'm as eager as anyone to be rid of these abominations once and for all; but we can't do it tonight. We've already wasted a lot of time. And without any additional rope; I don't want to get caught down there in a tight spot. No point in trying to fight our way back to the surface if the sun is up...

I say we come back tomorrow, fully fed and properly prepared.

Thomas looks at his two Clanmates. "Probably for the best, if we are going to do check out these tunnels it's a job we need to be properly prepared for. There is another entrance to a similar type of tunnel in the Sewers near an old Brood camp if construction blocks off this entrance."
